Being a fireman for 25 years I say good for you to have something with you. Either for you or your fellow man.

I had an old POS Dodge employer owned work truck that caught on fire. The fuel line leaked onto a spark plug wire that evidently had cracks in it (truly an old pos). I caught it early as I smelled melting/burning and was able to mat out the flame a bit with gloves until someone with an extinguisher in their car stopped and put out the flames.

I have learned to keep an extinguisher as well as a jump starter and air compressor in my personal vehicles after that. I have helped roughly a dozen people with either jump starts or temp inflation offlat tires to get them to a tire store. Never had to use it for myself. I hope I never use the extinguisher, but in a trapped situation (mine or another driver) I know I would regret not having it.

I'll chime in here and offer my 2 cents, as a fire protection engineer and authority having jurisdiction, that you're all telling essentially the right story. Big picture, having an extinguisher handy/accessible to protect yourself or a victim, can't be a bad idea but the key is to be able to access it quickly so you can extinguish a developing fire quickly. We are talking seconds though, not minutes. Any fire that has progressed more than a few seconds that has the potential to become a larger fire will be very difficult to affect with a handheld extinguisher. It is simply not what extinguishers are designed for or intended to do. Also worth noting is the difference between extinguishment and suppression. Most sprinklers, for instance, are only designed to suppress or control, not extinguish, fires located near them and the fire department would actually finish the job of putting the fire out with localized/direct application of extinguishing agents. Water can act as an extinguishing agent but only if it is either applied directly to the source of the fire or in large quantities to flood the whole area.

To stay safe, don't count on your extinguisher to do more than give you a couple shots at stopping a fire from getting out of control. Always delegate someone to call for help before doing anything else. Then grab your canister and blade if you intend to provide assistance.

I joined the black grill mafia this weekend. I like it so far.
Not that you can tell but just to note, I spray painted the grill satin black to match my satin powder coated bumper. The grill comes high gloss from the manufacturer. I thought about Matte black but that was introducing a whole new texture - cant have that

Just grabbed one of these as well.

:D
I've discovered that the cool box keeps stuff even COLDER when that box is in place...which makes sense...because it's a smaller cavity to cool...and is double seal/insulated by its presence. But hey! I'll take it. :) I can still fit 6 Costco chocolate milks and two coke bottles with it in place. Woooo!

Lights. Wishing I would have done this years ago on my 100. I've got some battery powered adhesive mount ones on the 100 and they've been ok but these National Luna ones are bright.

I vote for another kit... Maybe with a manual, full-time (no ignition) switch?

The rear hatch kit idea got 14 orders over night...and wasn't even in its own thread!

These lights are always hot (no key needed) and have touch buttons switch to cycle through the 3 levels. I routed the wiring up through the factory bulkhead and tied it into my rear drawer power.

"Rear Drawer Power"?? What is that?

I have drawers and I have a Big ol' sine wave inverter back there...but drawer power? Do tell...

Its ok, I mean, if you like this kinda thing :flipoff2:
Did you outfit that truck or was it already done when you bought it? I ask because it looks familiar

ha - my memory is friggin awesome - thank you

Sorry, simply referring to the power runs I setup from the battery to the drawers for fridge, 12V, USB, etc.

Ya...I should have asked you that before I painted mine a couple weeks ago. I'm anticipating a TJM bumper...and wanted to get rid of the piano black...but probably should have used satin black. I used matte. I'll wait and see what it looks like...

Did the Rigid D2 fog light mod provided by Slee. Armory was very helpful. Will try them out tonight.

Ha, Haggis - beat me to it, I did the same install. Swapped out the ARB brackets and fogs for the Slee kit.

I know there is plenty of discussion on here, but those ARB fogs are pretty terrible. Wish I had a side-by-side comparison, but the Rigid D2s are significantly better.
