Not my original source but similar data. As you can see oiled air filters are just not as good at their primary function which is stopping dirt. They also quickly become more restrictive to air flow.

Aftermarket Air Intakes/Filters - Do They Work? - Diesel Place : Chevrolet and GMC Diesel Truck Forums

From all the data I've seen there is simply no better filter (oil/air) or fluids (oil/ATF, etc) than OEM Toyota. Not sure where other manufacturers are regarding quality since I haven't had the need to research other manufacturers. :)

EDIT: I made some wording changes from my original post as I was too harsh in my evaluation. Oiled air filters are not garbage but they provide very little to no real performance benefit at the cost of being less efficient as a filter medium.

Do you have a pic from the driver's seat, looking at the mirror? Do the mirror defrosters work?

The look is kinda growing on me. I just remember the price was a bit high.

I'll shoot a photo from the driver's seat tomorrow. Meanwhile here's one more...

Don't overlook the fact that the TRD air filter (and oil filter, for that matter) is available over the counter from your local Toyota dealer's parts counter ;) So it is a Toyota part available from Toyota which I agree is different from a K&N, afe, or other aftermarket filter.

Edit to add:

Still working on best adjustment for the mirrors. Here's a pic of the drivers side extended.

From the features listed on the website I'm going to guess the answer is no.

Note: I would have thought the memory adjustment was part of the 3 position button control and not built into the mirror, but this makes it sound like it's not.

If I believed everything I read on the internet, I'd be running a totally stock rig and having myself a very boring life.

But I will award you double bonus points for effort if you can explain how oil from the filter (assuming I can't figure out how not to over oil it) could get sucked through this permanently mounted fume filter in the top half of the air filter box:

:hmm:

I was thinking the exact same thing. I race motorcycles and every race bike I have has an oiled K&N.

Had it for a week now.

LED interior and reverse lights, RWs and removed the side steps. A spare RW is on the way to have a full set. Not super keen on the white lettering but that's how the wheels/tires were when I bought them.

I have an appointment next week to fix the cam tower leak (under warranty) and get the RW TPMS switched over.

Tire size looks just right, are they 285 70 17?

Your pic brings up a good point, forgot about the permafilter... anyone ripe theirs out yet? I know all the taco and fj guys do...

How skinny and how tall? Looks good.

275/65/R20 on Tundra/Seqoiua Platinum wheels with 1" spacers. I really like the look of the BFG AT in 20" but had a hard time finding an aftermarket wheel that was a little subtle, and I have a personal aversion to simulated beadlocks. The 305/65/18s are going to go on the factory wheels for whenever I feel like swapping, and I'll sell the Method Racing 18"x9".

Now that I have a tire fitment that doesn't rub, if a nice looking 20" wheel comes along any time soon, I'll ditch the Tundra/Sequoia wheels in a skinny minute!

For increased air flow? From the research I've done, it seems that even if you were to completely remove all filtration you would not pick up any noticeable performance gain. I don't think there is anything you can do to the stock air intake system to get more HP. A turbocharger is the only thing that will actually provide you more power to the wheels.

Got my set of RW's sitting in the shop waiting for me to ware out the tires on the truck.

They look great.
