It was mayhem, tons of jackknifed trailers.

I'm going through WY again next month on my way to Colorado. I'll get in contact with you for parts pickup then. Thanks!

I should have everything ready and good to go from the laser cutters and maybe even a Tough Dog suspension kit, pending the slow boat's timing.

Finally got some cruiser time on Sunday. touched up the paint on the sliders, and installed the prinsue designs rack. thanks to all the posts about removing the factory rack! install was super easy.

Looking great !! supposedly my Prinsu rack is shipping today....... looks like it's worth the 10 week wait....

Had some much needed paint correction done this week (using a combination of CarPro and Menzerna products). Picked up my LC back on January 1 ('14 CPO) and finally got around to getting this done. So, now on to a lot of careful hand washing to keep swirls and webbing at a minimum (hopefuly!). A few before and after shots:

I just gained yet another "additional 10HP" in less than 5 minutes:

What's the cost on that? How's that minder work? ^^

The filter was approx. US$73 on Amazon: Amazon.com: Genuine Toyota Parts PTR43-00090 TRD Air Filter: Automotive

I've been running the Filterminder for years with stock air filters. It works very well. It measures the intake vacuum after the air filter - when vacuum increases to a certain point (indicating restricted air flow through the air filter), it's time to clean/replace the filter. It serves as a very good visual indicator of the health of your air filter.

I would not recommend the oiled air filters (K&N, TRD, etc). Based on the tests I've seen they are just absolutely horrible. As far as air flow they actually start off with just as much flow as the stock Toyota air filters and quickly become more restrictive to air flow vs. the stock. So absolutely no benefit as far as air flow. If you don't clean and re-oil them frequently you lose all benefit from using them. Second, they tend to allow a lot more micro particulate to pass through the air filter vs the stock so they are much more damaging to your engine. Finally, if you don't re-oil them correctly you can suck up oil from the filter which can foul your MAF sensors.

Zero actual performance benefit (especially over time where stock will significantly out perform) while allowing a lot more garbage to get in to your engine. I'll look for my sources and post here if I can find them.

@TexAZ and @Markuson , what are the details on those mirrors, guess i missed where it was posted... Thanks.

They are made in Australia and excellent quality. I like them because both sides have both a large regular mirror, and a good size convex mirror as well.

LANDCRUISER 200 SERIES

Electronic controls work on the large regular mirror, with the convex adjusted manuall--but since its convex, you don't really need to adjust it much.

You give up two things:
-Auto fold-in
-Auto down-angle in reverse

But to me, I like the wider stance for backing (and of course is hauling a trailer) because I can angle it downward and inward to get a much better view of obstacles behind me--especially right/rear.

I think if I had had these in Moab, I might not have dinged up my passenger-side wheels so badly when I had no spotter.

Everything is a trade-off on some level...but I like em a lot.

PS. TexAZ was kind enough to set up a double shipment...which was only a little more to ship two sets compared to just one set...so he shipped both to his address...then sent a set to me. :)

Do you have a pic from the driver's seat, looking at the mirror? Do the mirror defrosters work?

The look is kinda growing on me. I just remember the price was a bit high.

If I believed everything I read on the internet, I'd be running a totally stock rig and having myself a very boring life.

But I will award you double bonus points for effort if you can explain how oil from the filter (assuming I can't figure out how not to over oil it) could get sucked through this permanently mounted fume filter in the top half of the air filter box:

Oops! You just reminded me of another missing doodad. Mirror defroster. So ya. You lose that.

I could imagine if I lived in snow... Might miss that.
On the other hand...I've lived with non-defrosted side mirrors my entire life until I owned the LC. I'll manage. :)
