Haha! Ya never know maybe there's a freak snow storm! A while back I picked up a car in AL and had a snow storm chasing me on the drive back to OK. Let's flip it around, fog? I've been disappointed in the factory fogs and want something that is an improvement.

I totally thought about your post this morning. Sure enough, when I checked my phone, it is telling me we are going to be getting a good amount of snow Friday. Lol.

I guess I will make an AAR in regards to my lights.

Looks great! I'd love to know how'd the do in the snow. Better yet, how are the yellows in the snow?
I specifically put Amber lenses on my ARB lights for snow and yellow film for fogs. Major difference. Though not street legal for ARB. Got them for night driving in the lonely CO mountain roads and off roading late.

Compared to other vehicles the factory fogs suck, even with the PIAA bulbs I have. Has anyone would a better bulb or is it just the reflector that doesn't throw the light efficiently?
I was thinking about trying to mount a square or rectangular LED driving lights in the factory openings or behind the factory lenses.
Any suggestions.

What is the bulb type? It's a 9006, right?

Opt7, the same maker of my driving lights (which I have been really impressed with) makes a 9006 bulb.

I have no doubt it would be the brightness you are looking for. They are "cool white" which has a slight blue tint. They are not obnoxious like the aftermarket blue lights you see on rice burners. They are so bright, that I sometimes get flashes from other drivers thinking I have my high beams on.

If you click the "+2 more" button, you will see the 9006 option.

Slee's new MAIN-Battery-Replacement tray released for shipment.

If you wanna do this mod, don't just buy a "type 31."

I had to special order this, (31P-AGM7) because it's kind of unusual:

Terminals are nearly in the middle, and no secondary terminals. Most off-the-shelf 31's seem to have double terminal in a different arrangement. The kit includes custom connectors, so it's gotta be this arrangement.

Here's a link to instructions from Slee with photos:

Do share your testing results, especially a beam shot in night

I'll try, but they are so bright, taking a picture will be difficult!

The led fog lights I got are meant to be stock replacement. You're meant to unbolt the whole fog light assembly off the bumper and install the led units. You could shoot trs an email and ask as it should fit on the lc but I custom mounted it on a steel bumper.

[emoji4] just to see the reach, how far and bright they are, you can take a mobile pic from the driver seat [emoji106] ..thanks

Let me get them properly adjusted, and I will do so. I promise.

I installed the phillips ultinon leds. Not cheap but definitely better. Brighter and doesn't blind other drivers.

Ok, so here is the best I could do for you. I live in the city, so this was the darkest place I could find within about a mile from my house. The woodline is about 150-175 yards away.

Without any lights:

They are very bright. Now, that being said, they are still LED and will not have as much throw as some high-power halogens.

And just for fun, this is what it looks like from about 25 yards away. My neighbor texted me and asked me if a UFO had landed in my garage. Haha.

Jesus. That's bright

Yeah, that photo has not been altered. And it's not even a full on shot; if I got directly in front of them with the camera, you won't have been able to see anything. It's ridiculous looking into them.

I'd be interested to hear any evaluation of heat build-up. When wheeling at low speed, air-cooling isn't happening as much. One of the things I always wonder about with less-expensive LED lights is how well they dissipate heat.

If it turns out that your lights do well with heat build-up...it would go a long way toward selling the idea of this inexpensive alternative to ARB or other systems.

Maybe just leave them on for a while without major movement...and see what happens? Do they shut themselves down, or go into low power? Do they MELT? :) If not? Wow. Great deal...

I've run them for 5-10 minutes while stationary. Minimum heat build up. I'd like to see a side by side comparison with the real mccoys.

I run similar lights and ran them for hours in the dark with no melt downs or blown fuses. Once I reached camp I felt them for warmth and they were not to hot to touch just warm. Big cooling fins on the rear of the housing. Real deal
