Took the factory skid plates down, cleaned up any rust and gave them a cost of primer and gloss black. #stayaheadofthesalt

Nice work! Easy enough to do in your garage with some ramps? Also, any rationale to the glossy black over something like black stove paint or something Uber durable (but will scratch anyway)?

@beno, that thing is looking RIGHT!!

(What price can you get those RW's for? Best MUD price?)

Didn't even use the ramps or Jack's.

If they continue to get surface rust I will great and paint with POR15 or blast and powdercoat.
But for the cost of that I'll go ARB instead.

Called Sears and no more. They said it's being replaced, but had no date.

And ya...not easy to find the right 31. Lots of "31" around, but wrong 31!
I actually had to special order mine...as even the main San Diego Interstate warehouse did not have the right one on hand.

Discovered "Type 31" can be VERY different from each other. I bought the wrong 31 at first...then called Slee to check.
-For Interstate, it needs to be: 31P-AGM7...which has a VERY different terminal arrangement than some other 31s.

Side note re Interstate: When I talked to the Oddyssey battery guy, he said Oddyssey actually makes that battery for Interstate, but that it's slightly dumbed down version of theirs. He rattled off the difference, but since I had already bought the 31, I don't recall the details. I cannot confirm his claims...but I do know Oddyssey makes fantastic batteries, so would not be surprised.

Also... The 2nd tray battery from Slee is based on the 35...and because I'm clearly no battery guru...I decided to just get what Slee has in their shop truck (Interstate 31P-AGM7 main and Odyssey 35-PC1400).

Do you already have the dimensions of the Slee Main battery tray upgrade?

I'm thinking I'll go with the odyssey 31M-PC2150 if it'll fit.

I installed my new 225W spotlights

They make my very high powered LED nighttime driving lights look like twinkle lights on Walmart Christmas tree.

Sweeeet...do you know how many lumens they put out?

Which led headlights are you using? Low and high beam??
Can we get a few more shots of your TJM front bumper?

I am using the Opt7 kits from Amazon. They include drivers for the LEDs. Pretty bright. The High Beams are brighter too, but do not have as much throw as the halogens. I am pleased with them. Willy Beamin has them too and he says the same.

Here is a picture of the TJM the day I installed it.

I would wait for more info before buying the battery. I bought the wrong one and first and ended up special-ordering the correct one. It's not just the size. It's the specific terminal configuration.

Haha! Ya never know maybe there's a freak snow storm! A while back I picked up a car in AL and had a snow storm chasing me on the drive back to OK. Let's flip it around, fog? I've been disappointed in the factory fogs and want something that is an improvement.
