Installed majority of Budbuilt slider plates. Fuel tank protection coming in a few weeks.

Took longer than expected but by myself. Ramps and floor jack huge help. Rob at BB super responsive to questions.

Couple things to note. Make sure you dont crank down on transfer counter/vibration weights...forget actual name. They are cast aluminum and only need about 6 to 9 foot lbs of tourque. I have included a pic of them.

Second install loose before you tighten up everything and when you install the BB crossbar make the required cut on the heat shield, and install before installing armor. Obviously i progressed and found out the hard way that's a no no.

These things are no joke so floor jack is a must to help maneuver into place and help with supporting weight while you install hardware. One man can do it but 2 is better plus need a beer gofer.

I'm curious what issues you ran into with the transfer case vibration damper? Just clearance issues while installing the skids? Yours may be different, but mine is most definitely a heavy chunk of cast steel (cast iron maybe, but definitely ferrous). I can't imagine a lightweight aluminum piece would do much good at dampening things.

No issues. Removed that contraption around transfer case Toyo put on there for protection and then reinstalled the dampers. Rob at BB warned me that others have gone hulk on the bolts reattaching the dampers and broke the dampers. They only need a little bit of torque to hold in place. Just letting others know.

As far as what they are made of, i defer to Rob as he is the one that gave me the heads up.

That makes sense. The stock t-case "skid" is an interesting piece of engineering, isn't it?
My assumption is that Rob was referring to the aluminum of the transfer case (where the damper bolts thread into) being delicate and easy to strip with too much torque. The damper itself would likely survive atmospheric reentry.

Those skids look like they'd survive just about anything too!

Ohhhh ok now that makes more sense that he was referring to the case not the dampener itself. Ok I'm a moron..lol.

And yes that "thing" around the Tcase was uh interesting to say the least. I am sure it was engineered to drive techs and DIY people insane with the 950 bolts you have to remove on it. All my brothers are engineers and i know they would do that to torment. Lol.

Yeah these skids are probably overkill for my use but it is great peace of mind knowing I'm protected. Kinda like I was in HS with Trojans in the wallet...never know. Lol

It just as well be. Our little airport sees probably 1 flight every 6 months.o_O

Which panel is this? and which controller are you using?
That’s a Renogy Eclipse 100w panel. The GZ Yeti Link installed in my Yeti 1000 is a charge controller. When the engine is running the link charges the 1000 from the alternator, when the ignition is off the solar panel charges the 1000 . Once the 1000 is fully charged the Link charges and maintains the AGM under the hood.
 
What is the attachment / quick disconnect method? I have a Renogy 100W portable suitcase and would like to have a quick mount solution to keep it on the top of the truck and then remove and keep at camp to power the trailer.... I think its a good idea, just dont have a good plan to make it happen yet :)

I have the solar panel mounted to a Gamiviti grid floor panel that snaps into place. It’s wired using waterproof MC4 connectors. All I have to do is unplug the cable then pop the panel grid panel out. It’s pretty slick. @nakman has some awesome stuff. Here’s a vid of the grids:
 
Pounded out the dent I put in my fuel tank skid at some point. Thinking maybe engineer pass road late last summer.. stock height had me dragging a little on some sections. It was bent enough that it was pushing up on the tank at least an inch. Not sure if it’s related but I don’t seem to put as much fuel into the truck from the low fuel light as I used to. I wouldn’t think an inch could cause over a gallon difference

Turns out one of the fuel tank straps was slightly bent as well, and that they are very easy to remove if needed. Just support with a jack and board, loosen bolt, pull pin.

We’ll see if this brings back the fuel tank capacity I think I lost.
