Finally got the rear drawers back in after taking them out for the rear bumper install. Ready to get back out there.

Boredom setting in! Decided to remove the OEM side steps. 6 bolts per side, easy peasy.

They must weight all of 2lbs each.

Put the bolts back in, figure one less place for dirt n water to get in and potentially cause a rust access point.

Maybe this will get me motivated to call Bud Built, their sliders were great on my previous 4Runner.

Maybe remove front mud flaps Next but they seem a bit more integrated into the rocker/trim.

Put on the Yakima ShowBoat 66 kayak loading system. Works pretty good, although the stock roof rack does not quite go far enough back. Going to have to cantilever the rack about an inch further than they recommend in order to prevent the kayak from rubbing on the plastic piece at the top of the rear window. (For any kayak purists, I know my kayak is low budget, and low tech, but it works for me right now. Included an older picture of it rigged up, I have since added a better seat, an anchor, and changed out the hard side tackle box for a soft sided one that fits in the crate better.)

How did you mount the auxiliary lights?

I had some extra OEM spacers so I cut one in half and then mounted to the grill support. I also had to put a rubber spacer under the lights because they’re so heavy. I’ll take more pics later

Decided to try a budget version of a rear hatch light. I have a few of these rechargeable lights I purchased from Amazon that you place around your head. They have been so reliable and work amazing. I decided to attach them to the interior of my hatch using EZ-Pass plastic Velcro. These lights have a bright, dim and flashing setting. They can also be set to motion setting which activates with the swipe of your hand near the light to cut on or off.

I haven't had a chance to see how it holds up and how useful it is, but for less than $20 for a bright rechargeable light I can't beat it. No running wires and I have the option to mount (2) since they are sold in pairs. The back plate pops off so I could flush mount it with some small screws but the Velcro seem to be the easy option for now and I can quickly pop it off and go mobile if I need to.
I need to replace a couple of my interior lights to LED now. They look incredibly dim compared to this rear hatch light.

As if we needed more proof that dealers are crooked. Did what they said would take $1700 and 4 hours of work in about 15min and $600. Hit the drivers side mirror one too many times pulling in the garage and had to replace it. Opted to just get the one without the camera because it’s $350 cheaper ($600 vs $950 on Toyotapartsdeal.com). Never used the camera anyways

Put these Milestar Patagonia X/T 275/70R-18s on today. They are rubbing at full lock in both direction. Other than that road noise isn't noticeable louder than previous Michelin's that came with the wheels.
