Changed the oil today, cleaned her up good, and put new brake pads on all four corners in my annual 'pre Hundreds In The Hills make sure you have good brakes so you don't die' ritual.

Also got around to painting the gray trim piece that runs all the way down each side. I never really liked it but since both oem bumpers are gone now it just looked dumb. Scotch Brite, adhesion promoter, 3 coats prime 3 coats color 3 coats clear. There are a couple places I have to touch up but overall really happy. Updates the look of the truck a lot.

Andy, did you end up using any of the shims for the front bumper? I put mine all the way up and didn't need any and my gap still a tad too big but all right after all! Looking good!
I'm getting brakes done tomorrow!

Nope. Didn't use a single one. If anything I migh have actually needed a little adjustment the other way...

Just drove it a while today for the first time since installing 20mm spacers, cranking the TBs @ 5 ps and 6 ds and mounting 285/75/16s over the last 2 days.

I can't really tell the difference in how it rides? Feels stock, but definitely taller and it feels like a tank now.
I absolutely love it.

Yeah, it's crazy the difference from vehicle to vehicle! All I can figure is the body mounts ware down after time. All the 05-07 have required no shims while some of the older ones have required as many as 4 on one side and 3 on the other. That said you will want at least 1/2" on the outer most part of the wings to not have any contact while off road.

Didn't to anything to it, more miles and used some gas is all, but took a day trip to the Grand Canyon. More photos in my sig thread.

Made some adjustments to my on board air set up, which to date has essentially only been a compressor under the hood.

Added:

1. A small air tank in the space where my spare used to live (including associated pressure regulator, quick connect mounted nearby, better air lines)
2. This switch in the glove box to turn on the compressor

Haven't measured the air up times yet, but it should be at least a bit quicker. Also, not having to open the hood to power up the compressor will simplify things when getting back to pavement. I'll label the button so passengers aren't concerned about the possibility of it being an ejector seat trigger.

I wouldn't label it....tell them its an ejector seat....then when they do turn it on (cause the will, at least I would) and hear the compressor kick on it will scare the s**t out of them.....

Got rid of all the fake wood grain. Pain in the ###. Also installed some weather tech digital Gray mats in the front.

Looks really good. Bet that took some serious elbow grease hours and a couple tubes of goo gone. Worth it though.

just changed the oil and filter

It's been a while getting back into the swing of things since having our daughter on the first of June, but had some time while mom and daughter were out to drop the spare and clean off what I was expecting to be years of grime and treat any corrosion and to my surprise, other than the bumper support there was no rust at all! (I hadn't expected a lot but didn't know what could be hiding under the spare) I cleaned and lightly shot the areas around the body mounts with VHT chassis paint, but other than that, it was pretty uneventful. It also turns out that the muffler was probably done not to long before I bought the truck....

Got the popular ko2 in 275/70/18 size.
Good tires. Anyone know if a same size spare will fit into the spare tire area?
I have 2004 100. Thanks.
