Been a busy week: mounted the new TEQ emblem, finished fitting/drilling the frame for the Dissent Off-road bumper...

Welded the old holes on the frame shut, committed to some rust removal and a liberal dose of Rust Bullet zinc paint, removed the bug deflector and installed a new hood to headlight gasket, dropped the bumper off at the powder coater...

Then finished with installing the new Depo headlights and a dusting of black paint.

Those headlights really give the truck a fresh look. Now I'm going to have to get smart about fixing rock chips and give her a good washing.

Tinted the front windshield with 50% and the rear window with 20%. The heat and glare has been terrible without it. Been running tint on all my vehicles for the past 8 years. Now just need to finish up with 20% on the rear side windows. I try not to get too many free tint jobs from my brother on one visit.

Ive had darker on other vehicles. Never been a problem. Pretty common around here. Last couple trucks I have gone with clear to cut glare, but decided to go with a little color this time.

Not legal in SC. I'd not do it - safety issues aside, your insurance company will leap at the chance to leave you dangling after an accident with a tinted front windshield.

I don't see any issue with safety. It's much lighter than what is considered "light" and "legal" for side windows. Can barely tell it is on the window. Looks darker in pics than it really is.

no legal in california neither. doesnt it make your headlight turn on all the time when you put it in auto

Rear - 20% on top of factory.

I have not noticed the headlights on full time with auto after tinting. Will have to check. I would say it does not interfere with the auto function because it is so light. Truth is, people really do not notice things like this in the real world.

All in all, been a good week of upgrades/maintenance.

Oil change and got the wheels rotated, balanced, & aligned. I will be replacing all sway bar bushings and re packing the bearings very soon as the front left ones have a little wobble in them. Mechanic told me my front rotors were beginning to get warped also. Nothing like 3hrs at the dealership to put a dent in your wallet

Replaced the headlights with the Depo one-piece (with black trim) - love the look...

Just took off the old bushings from steering rack in less than hour. Installing new Whiteline 13210 bushing kit tomorrow.
With the right tools its easy.
