Towed the trailer home for the summer from Glamis sand dunes. Averaged about 6.4mpg over about 275 miles which is pretty painful. Hit a headwind near Indio by the windmills, and driving uphill. MPG was dropped down to about 4 and at times couldn't get up past 40 mph. Trailer weighs about 7000 loaded but dry (empty and dry is 5500lbs). Wet, she's a lot heavier but I only tow wet about 25 miles, half of which is down a dirt road. I put in some air bags in the rear to help support the load which make a world of difference. During the summer, I tow around a 22ft old Boston Whaler Outrage but not long distance. All local.

Installed front and rear JL Audio speakers. Desperately need a new sub as the one in there is blown and rattles like all hell.

@suede tell me more about your airbag set up. I also will tow a trailer with my new to me 100. Trailer is dry at about 3900 lbs and hitch weight is 450 lbs. It's one of those HI-Lo's that drops down to get out of the wind

Hi Bear Lake Cruiser, I think I bought the Firestone airbags. Simple search online. I got these ones:
http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4592
There are two different brands on this website. I chose these (the above link) because the air line went thru the top of the coil mount which seemed better than out the bottom like the other brand. Got them installed by 4wheelparts but I have had some air leak issues which I fixed myself but took some work. There is a rubber spacer on top of the airbag that is loose so a part of the air line got pinched and created a leak. That happened to both sides. To remedy, I just taped the spacer to the airbag to keep the hole aligned with the air line. You'll see what I'm talking about if you get them and do it yourself. Also, if you keep the airline taught, it will keep the bag hanging from the top when the suspension articulates (rather than a deflated air bag flopping around inside the coil). A little difficult to explain. If you download the installation instructions, there are some diagrams showing the side view which will hopefully help clarify what I'm talking about.
As for the fills, I did two separate ones (one for each side) and put the schrader valves right on the 7pin trailer wiring harness bracket. Hope this helps and I didn't just confuse you. Let me know if you want more info or clarification.

Ordered OPOR sliders from Metal Tech yesterday! What's the best way to paint them? Some sort of primer followed by bed liner spray? I'd like some non-skid element if at all possible.

@suede Thanks man, I have downloaded the instructions. If I go that route I'd probably get on board air. Those should have the capacity I need. I will be going to an RV place later this week to get a camper mounted the girl friends Taco and I will ask them about it, too. I have a 98, I don't think a 7 pin is as straight forward as yours for a brake controller. Gotta have my electric brakes, too. Mine is a 98. I have towed it with my 60, slow going but fine. Getting it down out of the wind when it is collapsed is a huge advantage.

I started removing the old faded "wood grain" to replace it with a new kit I got. I'm going to leave it off for a while to see how much I like it or not. I still need to clean up some of the residue you might see here.

Added an aftermarket Curt hitch receiver and wired in a four way for towing the boat this summer.

Whomever asked about painting sliders, I wasted a bunch of money having my sliders PC'd. They lasted about half a wheeling trip and I removed them a few months ago, sprayed an etch primer to any bare metal, then used a few coats of the Rustoleum bedliner available at your local home store. This has enough texture to give it some grip but not near as rough as something like raptor liner.

I don't have photos of the slider, but here is a close up of my ARB bumper. I scuffed the PC when I first got it and sprayed it with the same bedliner so that all the armor matched.

Does the residue come off all the way to give it clean look? I'd like to see pictures after the clean up.

Residue came off easy, but the black underneath was a little faded and scratched up, so I just installed the new kit. I'm pretty happy how it turned out.
