I know the freq....
You implied that if there was no digipeater that APRS was a no go, thus my m-t-m comment.

The only thing I'll probably change/add is another RAM extension and ball-to-ball adapter to move the 710 face to the right of the mirror for a little better view while driving...for off-road trips. Otherwise it stays tucked up to the sun roof when not in use...or as is or close for the time being when in use...
Also added another in-headliner speaker (PS not shown) so both band sides are left & right separated.
That's the exact spot I was thinking. Wasn't planning the ram mount, though that's interesting. Do you think if it was flush against that bulkhead area that the screen would be hard to see? I'm not planning to do a whole lot of looking at it, as the left side stays either on our club network, scan list, 146.52 or 146.46 most of the time. Right side stays on APRS.
The other area I was thinking was a modified ashtray mount. But I don't particularly like looking down...
I'm planning to put the body in the "first aid" compartment on the PS. Is that where you went?
With that single DIN radio the dash is just ripe for Ham radio head unit.
The Kenwood head looks pretty big (surprisingly)... My FTM 350 head would fit in the garage door pocket up there.
I had fun!
I'm amazed at how much easier the front suspension compresses without a sway bar. This is turning while going over a small obstacle, uphill. Great looking wheels by the way!
Besides the obvious body roll, is the ride softer going down the road?
I had fun!
On the highway it's about the same. In the streets and rough roads, the front end seems smoother. It does take a while to adjust to no sway bars. I do have the rear installed.
Thanks for the compliment on the wheels. A buddy of mine gave me his when he decided to do the same as you did with yours.I'm amazed at how much easier the front suspension compresses without a sway bar. This is turning while going over a small obstacle, uphill.

Thanks Beno! If you've read any of my previous posts you'll see that I've been battling with this rig since purchased in October. But I've just about got it running to par.(fingers crossed). I'm right between eureka and arcata, living on the Manila peninsula. We thought living on this miniature spit of sand between the bay and the pacific would give us front row seats to some future tsunami. Gotta keep things interesting.Arcata? Fortuna? Eureka? Garberville?
I did my 7 years in Humboldt back in the 90's. Nice 100.
Hey 2000UZJ, what kind of front bumper is that? I like how that looks on the 100.

It's the ARB 2003+ Combo Bar.
Fishie, you had an accident? Did I miss thAt thread??!!

Hundys are a pain in the arse to work on!..
I think working on the IFS of the 100 is a lot more demanding and time consuming when compared to a solid axle cruiser such as a 40 or 80.. A lot more stuff to clean and work on... Post pics later..
100% true. It doesn't get any better in the arse end either: Wait until you have the misfortune to R&R/deal with the rear axle seal/bearing/system![]()
