The only thing I'll probably change/add is another RAM extension and ball-to-ball adapter to move the 710 face to the right of the mirror for a little better view while driving...for off-road trips. Otherwise it stays tucked up to the sun roof when not in use...or as is or close for the time being when in use...

Also added another in-headliner speaker (PS not shown) so both band sides are left & right separated.

With that single DIN radio the dash is just ripe for Ham radio head unit.

The Kenwood head looks pretty big (surprisingly)... My FTM 350 head would fit in the garage door pocket up there.

That's the exact spot I was thinking. Wasn't planning the ram mount, though that's interesting. Do you think if it was flush against that bulkhead area that the screen would be hard to see? I'm not planning to do a whole lot of looking at it, as the left side stays either on our club network, scan list, 146.52 or 146.46 most of the time. Right side stays on APRS.

The other area I was thinking was a modified ashtray mount. But I don't particularly like looking down...

I'm planning to put the body in the "first aid" compartment on the PS. Is that where you went?

I had my 208H mounted direct, without RAM set-up and didn't like it...screen was too much off angle to view without moving my head over.

The main unit was an easy direct swap where the 208H body was mounted...DS front vertical face of the AO drawer frame.

Tried it there but the 710 is too tall for me in the lower DIN slot...maybe if I moved the Eclipse to the lower slot then used the upper for the 710...then I'd need to move the Lowrance...oh the slippery slope got too, well, slippery for me...

I had fun!

I'm amazed at how much easier the front suspension compresses without a sway bar. This is turning while going over a small obstacle, uphill. Great looking wheels by the way!

Besides the obvious body roll, is the ride softer going down the road?

On the highway it's about the same. In the streets and rough roads, the front end seems smoother. It does take a while to adjust to no sway bars. I do have the rear installed.

Welcome to the dark side!

Thanks for the compliment on the wheels. A buddy of mine gave me his when he decided to do the same as you did with yours.
I'm new to the wheeling scene. So you have no sway bar? and your suspension looks completely compressed. Is the sway bar a good thing or bad thing for large obstacles?
I'm digging the AHC too. It's fun.

Arcata? Fortuna? Eureka? Garberville?

I did my 7 years in Humboldt back in the 90's. Nice 100.
Thanks Beno! If you've read any of my previous posts you'll see that I've been battling with this rig since purchased in October. But I've just about got it running to par.(fingers crossed). I'm right between eureka and arcata, living on the Manila peninsula. We thought living on this miniature spit of sand between the bay and the pacific would give us front row seats to some future tsunami. Gotta keep things interesting.
I'm on my 10th year here. If it wasn't for the trees, the fish, and lack of people, I'd probably be on my way to Oregon by now.
Since you got some humboldt roots I'll start calling you and bugging you for parts now if that's cool? Haha!

It's the ARB 2003+ Combo Bar.

Fits on 98-02 as well. Obviously, because 2000UZJ's truck is a 2000.

I haven't done too much to my truck recently but I did get an update from the collision shop: entire front right suspension needs to be replaced. This tab keeps growing, really hope that doesn't mean they might total it... wasn't even a massive collision. Anyways! If they don't total things then I've got a lot of shiny new parts on the way :bounce:

Also just received a new pintle hitch in the mail today, that's going to go on when I get the truck back. And I got some WeatherTechs for Xmas which are waiting to go in as well.

Hundys are a pain in the arse to work on!:p.. I finally caught up on some maintence ever since I bought the 100 4 months ago.. Did the whole front end.
*Rebuilt CV's w/OEM boot kits
*Repacked Wheel Bearings
*Replaced Fr brake pads
*Replaced Fr Diff oil (80w-90)
*Replaced Rr brake pads
*4 new OEM Shocks
*New Tires 285/75r16 BFG A/T's..........Tired!
*Alignment
*Throttle Body cleaning
I think working on the IFS of the 100 is a lot more demanding and time consuming when compared to a solid axle cruiser such as a 40 or 80.. A lot more stuff to clean and work on... Post pics later..

Maybe I should make a thread out of it... I think I just made a post on the Photos thread. I'll make a new thread for it after dinner and detail what I'm doing about it too.

100% true. It doesn't get any better in the arse end either: Wait until you have the misfortune to R&R/deal with the rear axle seal/bearing/system

Is the rear axle similar to the semi float found on 40's/60's cruisers? Given there both semi floats... I'll check the fsm later.... Thanks for all input spresso....
