Huge thank you to everyone who answered questions and helped with supplying tech specs this weekend!

What was originally going to be just a crossover heater pipe install ended up being a starter replacement (since I was already there), lower manifold gasket (since I was already there), injector refresh (since I was already there), water temp sensor (since I broke it pulling the manifold out), battery tray/compartment de-rusting and coolant flush.

Oh, and I finished the drawers for underneath the sleeping platform I built. Was a productive Land Cruiser weekend. 😅

Everything went more or less according to plan and by 10pm Sunday night Liberty was purring like a kitten.

Sumo underdrive was a success! Used trans install was a breeze. Test drove 6 hr round trip for a set of KISS drawers. Love the regear. If I could do it it again I'd shoot for 4.88's in the diffs, but the 4.56 equivalent in the T case is legit. 35" load range E's pulled the girl down without the gears significantly.

Plastidipped my mouldings in “gunmetal grey” after I got quoted >$1000 by a vinyl wrap shop. Super easy process as always with plastidip. Even though it’s miles better than the chipped, faded original, it’s just too light, and my OCD won’t let me have 3 different shades of grey that close to each other on the side profile. I’ll peel this colour off and try again with “stealth grey” hydrodip coming next week.

Well, I gave up on the plastidip solution and did what I should’ve done from the beginning: OEM.

I ordered all 10 pieces from Impex for about 70,000 yen shipped. They fulfilled and shipped in a couple weeks. I went with the -D0 colour code instead of the -H0 the truck came with. D0 has a gloss to it and is a darker grey overall; it comes standard on black 100s. I can provide part numbers on request.

Did the rear brakes. Here's my thread on what I learned about brakes > Cut off the stupid rubber slide-pin sleeves and don't grease the pad ears.

Went from Austin to Houston to meet with family who were passing through. Right around the time we got there we could hear the awful sound of metal-to-metal. One of the pads ran out of juice (I don't usually put squeal shims on). Pretty gnarly by the time we got back. I used downshifting and the e-brake when braking needs were light. The wife didn't give a ***k when she was driving, so... yeah.

How are these hold on? My drivers front one is catching on the door when it is hot and I think it needs to be shifted forward slightly. I assume they might have clips and adhesive tape?
