Got her back from.the Toyota place where they discovered a leaky long radiator and fixed a worn tensioner bearing while putting on a new set of tires.

Nitto Ridge Grapplers 275/65r18

The ride quality improvement over my old Michelins is surprising. After one 8 mile drive, I love these things.

Will be replacing the radiator myself this weekend. The sliders and a new bumper will have to wait I guess.

While you're in there replacing the radiator, it's a great time to install some sliders! 🤣

Today I played a little hooky the last bit of the day and took advantage of the great spring weather to upgrade ol Larry from 3-ton yard ornament back to “driveable car;” my wife is thrilled.
  • Finally got my new alternator crammed in- my gorilla hands were not meant for this
  • Replaced the PS low pressure lines that were puking fluid all into the old alternator for... some time
  • Bled lines/purged bubbles and test drove through the hood... success! We have full electric power, we have no leaks
  • Buttoned the engine bay back up and gave it a quick detail since Purple Power was on sale and GOD was there a lot of greasy goo slathered around in that general alternator/ PS pump area. Even wiped down the plastic cover.
  • And wrapped the afternoon up with a quick wash. Poor Larry had a lot of pollen buildup in the cracks and body lines, but nothing a little pressure wash and foam cannon can’t cure

One new and one newly rebuilt (tonight). The new one also happens to be “Lexus”🤦‍♂️

I'm interested in more details on these lights. Where did you mount them exactly, how did you power them, etc. They look great!
Was able to track down the original post that gave me the idea. The credit belongs to @kpecks. I mounted mine in the same location as he did but I'm running a pair of red and a pair of white lights for total of 4. I used the same 3-pisiton toggle switch but put it on the inside of the handle bezel so nothing in the back of the cruiser bumps it and inadvertently turns them on. The wires I can around the hatch, through the original hatch grommet, to the dome light for the 3rd row seating. Tapping into the dome light wiring was pretty straight forward.

My young bloke got under my cruiser and peeled off half of them. 😤
Kept finding them laying around.
My girlfriend spent several work days taking care of a toddler who had mysterious symptoms with all of his vitals crashing. When they used imaging to intubate him, they saw weird square shapes in his digestive tract. Turned out that dad works in a tire shop, and the kid had swallowed wheel weights that he found in dad's pockets and had acute lead poisoning. Just to say, watch out with kids and lead objects.

These rear UCA bushings were pretty. damn. shot. after ~310k miles and ~22 years. Got the Metaltech replacements installed after work today, and holy crap does my rig feel better. Just need to do the front LCA bushings and the differential bushings.

That’s really scary. Will do
Thanks

Likely going to install these and the lift this weekend.

Kids find new and inventive ways to hurt themselves, especially in that "HEY I'M MOBILE BUT MAYBE DON'T SPEAK HUMAN LANGUAGE SO WELL YET" stage. It's kind of a minor (major?) miracle there are any people at all. As a parent, it's your job to be terrified of all that for them. All three of my little dudes have lived through all the stages so far.

😅

Spend 2 1/2 days at National Seashore with family and friends

Meant to post up something from our one-and-only snow storm back in Feb. This is considered a decent amount of snow for North Alabama! Super fun to get out and explore with the Mickey Thompson's, which did great, of course!

I'm from NoAL and I hate that I live too far south to get much snow now.
