Where are you going bouncing on the 395? I live in Bishop
I joined a 100 series outing headed out in late April... the organizer has not sent out the final route yet, but the tentative plan was to meet out in Trona, then head up above Alabama Hills. I’m hoping for high elevation, but we’ll see. I think it’s open to 20 rigs. Not sure if it’s full.

Changed the oil and ATF fluid out. Lubed my shaft. Next up: Front, rear differentials and transfer case.

I found an unused plug that had 12v when only the ignition was on.
Did you splice into it? Have any pics of the way you wired it?

Just for you @RuskiE39 :)

Anything else you want to see?

Right on, thanks! That gives me a good idea of the clearances. I was also curious about clearance and room with the tailgate down. Since myself (and others) use it a lot like a work bench. If the tailgate is down, is there any give in the hitch to swing into the tailgate? Like for example if you're parked on a beach and it's a windy day will it blow around if the trunks open?

Looks pretty tight right here: (the bolt to the tailgate)

The latch will keep it locked open until you lift that "L" bolt.

This week I did all new upper and lower control arms, oem steering rack, tie rod ends, installed rhino batwing awning, and bled ahc system out.
Damn how was the steering rack job? And did you do oem control arms or aftermarket?

Replaced my fuel pump. Very easy job. Hardest part honestly was getting the new hose on the pump. Oh and putting the seats back in!

I’ve tried adding a little tape to the buttons inside the climate control to get better contact with no luck. Tried cleaning the inside of the silicone caps and still they didn’t work. Frustrating to not be able to set the clock, turn on defrost or mirror defrost, etc... I haven’t tried replacing the buttons - thanks to the write up somewhere else in here that next step did the trick. $.17 buttons, a few soldering tools, and all buttons are good to go!

Well done!

I should have. Dang. Basically after taking down the overhead panel, I wasn’t comfortable clipping into any of those wires and all the ones I tried were hot all the time and I wanted only when the ignition was on. After unclipping connectors to get the panel down and out of the way, I noticed an unused connector neatly wrapped and tucked into the front right corner that was apparentlyfor some option that my car did’t have. After checking, two of the wires were hot only when the ignition was on. Yeah... sort of. Then I realized my camera used 5v and it got that from the camera cord 12v plug that stepped it down. Tried to take it apart and it was a not go without breaking it. I actually soldered wires to the plug tip and side ground. Ran the ground wire to a bolt nearby. The hot wire I tapped into the unused car wire using the little clip pictured below. Wrapped the 12v plug I had soldered to with electrical tape and tucked the whole mess into a void in the headliner.

Sorry for the long description. It wasn’t pretty but works great and hides a long cord that was driving me crazy.

pfran LED kit came in, i placed them in all worked great. I'm gonna have to change out my license plate lens covers they have about had it from the weather. My door light covers need to be replaced as well i didn't know how bad a condition they were in until i went to change out the bulbs. Pictures are of the map lights, dome lights, door lights and back up lights. Backup light picture is of the bulb before i put the LED reverse light in. The reverse light are extremely bright and i am very pleased with all of the lights. 100 Series - Interior LED kit

Hey @djernie ... any advise on pullinng out the old D bulbs? I swapped my dome lights, and had no problem pulling covers off map and (1) door light, but I can’t get the old bulbs out! On the license plate light, stuck trying to twist the bulb holder out of the cover.

Replaced a ball joint boot, about an hour in and out (00 LX470). Took care of the squeak, did a close inspection to make sure there wasn’t any metal shavings. Not sure if this was the right move but it was the path of least resistance. Thoughts on doing this over replacing whole joint welcomed.
