Mounted 2ft Firestik antenna on a spring for CB & FM radio.
firestik 2ft.jpeg

Used the original antenna hole in the fender and a universal Firestik mount + spring. Had to grind out the hole a little, there is more than enough room around the mount and sping now.

Some heatshrink around the PL connector & mount that sticks through fender, just to be sure.

Need more details on this steering wheel re-wrap. Got any pics?
Here's the before and after. I bought this one back at the end of August, and it arrived two weeks later. You can see from the pics it is not 100% exactly like like the original as they perforated leather extenders farther on the new one. I wasn't able to get it 100% perfect, but for $60 I'd say it's about 95-98% as good as a new OEM steering wheel, and 100% better than the peeling original I had. Also the directions say to put the adhesive on the leather before stitching it together. I put it on after since getting the wrap positioned where I wanted it on the wheel was a huge pain. This was really easy to do, but time consuming. In total I probably spent 4-5 hours taking the wheel off, removing the old wrap, cleaning the old adhesive off the wheel, reading the instructions about 8 times, adjusting the new wrap as good as I could get it on the wheel, selecting which movie I wanted on in the background on Netflix, and stitching everything together.

I think that looks great. How does it look with the airbag in it? Mine currently looks similar to your old one. Huge eye sore.

Quick install of Owl Media Mount from @Ramathorn15. Took maybe 1/2 hour to do the job. Just waiting for RAM mounting stuff to put it to use. BTW, anyone looking for a cassette deck replacement? I don't think it was ever used.

Oil change and more gas. I ordered struts for the hood and the rear lift gate--I'm tired of hitting my head and never knowing if the rear hatch will work!

Wrapped up a few small things:
-cupholder install from @BenCC. Butterfly towards one side fits a nalgene and yeti rambler perfectly. Easily the best and most useful mod after the HID headlight conversion.
-installed @TRAIL TAILOR recovery points, 70mm bolts worked perfectly with the Ironman bumper: Metric hex bolts, Zinc plated class 10.9 steel, 14mm x 1.5mm x 70mm - Bolt Depot - https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Details.aspx?product=15192
-replaced fuses in the engine bay and the fuse box seal (McMaster-Carr #1177N15).
-finally installed @Ramathorn15 rock lights. These are quite nice, should have done this way sooner.
-replaced starter relay (denso 567-0003) that was getting a bit sticky with bench testing. No noticeable difference in functionality, but peace of mind I guess.

The usual gas fill.

Last week: installed my Prospeed rack and tested it in Tahoe. Ran into minor minor problems but Prospeed sent me upgrade parts and am awaiting them in the mail! Great customer service and great rack.

upgraded tires to Geolanders, quiet and perfect for the snow, did regret not sizing up a bit.

Today: upgraded my console cd changer and grabbed the last Massive Metal Shop safe! It ships today!

Hopefully also locked down a drawer and tailgate storage for the Lexus. Wooo January is a good month.

Just 8 months after buying the Harrops front e-locker, I finally wired it all up. And would you believe it, it even engaged when I turned the rotary switch and then disengaged when I turned the dial back!! This doesn't always happen folks!

I'm going to need to know how to do that pretty soon. I've got the OEM in the rear and a Harrop/Eaton going in the front.

Did my steering rack bushings. Used some made in USA ones that come in my favorite color. A cheap air hammer made quick work of the original bushings. Would be much harder without an air hammer that's for sure!

Car drives straight again!
Nice find. I've used their bushings on other vehicles with success.

Do you want to know how to wire up the dash lights or just a switch?

I don't think the later model LX has dash lights. Nothing special appears when I shine a light through the empty slots. The rear got an OEM from a '99, but I don't have anything wired up as an indicator.

I just need to figure out how to replace the single-position magic dial with the two-position.

Ah, that's true. I assume everyone bought the 98-99 cause they're the best ;)
