The build continues. We had the Slee Off-Road dual swingout rear bumper installed this week thanks to Southern Off Road. We couldn’t be happier with the quality and the install.

I just ordered an OEM Tundra antenna to replace the shorty that came with the kit. Super simple swap!
I really want to get rid of my OEM one. Do you unplug the motor or remove the fuse? Mind posting up the link to the antenna you got?

Installed cheap insurance..... I say "cheap" because I purchased a 12,000 lb. Badland Winch from Harbor Freight. I haven't had the need for a winch in all of my adventures, so far, that couldn't be handled with a snatch or maxtraxx. I don't think it will be used for recovery often, but more for moving downed trees, etc. I think the most important factor is that it completes the look of the front bumper ;)

I also had a new OEM radiator installed by Lexus a few days ago. The original cracked up top, and started spewing a good amount of coolant everywhere. It lasted 210k miles, and is the first major component to break on me - not bad!

Had the same spot on my radiator. Turned out to be a bad cap.

Re-booted two CV axles. I put in a brand-new OEM axle the other weekend to replace one with a torn boot and everything went fine until the other side decided to spew grease everywhere during my test drive. In preparation, I re-booted the one I had off the rig last night and realized today that the outboard splines were shot. Took off the bad CV axle today and it had good splines so I went ahead and re-booted it too and stole balls from the other one since a few were in bad shape. Still deciding if I should keep the bad one I assembled in case of an emergency.

Also tried keeping the knuckle and rotor assembly intact this time and tried pulling the axle with just the UCA ball joint separated. Wasn’t easy to remove so during the install I just removed the lower ball joint as well. It wasn’t a fun process having to lift the rotor and knuckle assembly. On a side note, I somehow managed to install both snap rings with my POS tool within a minute. The other week, I spent almost 2 hours trying to install just one.

Used it to tow my buddies boat this weekend. How did it do? Really well considering it was only 1/2 a mile from the storage to the ramp 😂. AHC didn’t come out of low mode, but considering the short tow. I didn’t care much

I've never towed anything but I remember reading here to rinse/wash the undercarriage after you launch/load a boat like that.

New Denso starter at 297,500 miles. Previously replaced just the starter contacts at 200,000 (Three years ago).
Apparently it was time for a new one.
When I pulled it out, I found that the engagement gear mechanism had blown completely out of the starter housing and was just sitting there with a small pile of metal and ball bearings.

Sweet rig! What rear wheel carrier/ hitch are you using?
Thanks! It’s a custom build. I have a few posts about it on my instagram account @landy_landcruiser100 if you want to check it out.
We designed it as a bolt on directly off of my factory trailer hitch.
