In the process of changing the radiator, tensioner assembly, power steering pump, alternator and misc. hoses. Perfect time to wash the engine while these things will be out of the way. The old pump made a mess.

Hey just a wee thought from my experience - I had a hum, and tried all kinds of things to get rid of it (including replacing the flux capacitor) which didn't work. It wasn't until a long time later that I noticed that my sliders (OPOR for an LX) were touching the foot well body metal - such that there was a direct metal to metal connection between the frame and the body. I lowered the sliders a bit so that there was a healthy gap between the two (so I could squeeze a finger between them), and the hum went away! Man I was so happy - but also frustrated about how long it took me to find it and all the things I tried. So....I guess be smarter than me! I suppose its possible a rock on a trail pushed my sliders up into the body at some point.

On my bolt on OPOR sliders the vertical clamping surface that the u-bolts attach to/thru are pretty tall so it was pretty easy to have them touch the body foot well pan and the frame at the same time. I guess there's a lot of vibration/noise that is in the frame that doesn't get transferred to the body when the two are sufficiently isolated.

Finally got to this. My passenger side had probably a 1/8" gap in between the slider bracket and the foot well body panel. My driver side was touching. I lowered it to match the 1/8" gap and went for a drive. I would say it got rid of 25-30% of the humming. I added back the flux capacitor and that got rid of a little more. I would say 50% of the humming is gone now. I wonder if could be the diamond plate option I have on the slider, just a thought. I'll stop here since I don't really drive fast like that anyway.

Just added LED high beams to my 55w Morimoto bi-xeon HID's. Now I'm packing the power of a thousand suns. :flipoff2:

And yes, those are not OEM housings.

I really like the LX bill bar design

What was the verdict on the UCA?
Well, you were right, there is not a provision for the AHC. But...I’m going to see what I can do to utilize the steel tab that’s on the TC arms and see if I can make a bolt on option for the AHC. I just haven’t taken the time to dive into it since the weather wasn’t great and I only have a small one car garage to do projects until my girlfriend gets home from work.

@ktmracer01

Bummer. But I like the way you think - I bet you could make a bolt on bracket.

I just looked on eBay and they have $39 UCA for the LX - got me thinking you could take the tab off those or just ask some members off here that did the AHC delete and see if you could grab their old arms

And btw - the color matched dissent bumper looks outstanding!

First Oil change, rotate the tires...and my first look at the under carriage...not too bad. The only area I was a bit concerned about was the fuel tank skid plate. Before Fluid Film...

I was going 64 in a 45 a quarter mile from the turn off to our camping spot. He gave me a ticket for the Trasharoo covering the license plate.

I quote "This is quite the rig. I can't give you a speeding ticket. I like this truck too much!"

Changed oil, installed quick-drain valve for next time, 5-tire rotation, drive shaft lube, installed Trail Tailor recovery points.

This was the 2nd oil change since I've had this truck and only the 1st time I've greased the shafts. The truck has copious factory maintenance records but I never once saw a drive shaft lube in there. I used a ton of grease compared to a normal 'maintenance' lubing for one of my other trucks. So, moral of the story, even if you have a crazy well serviced truck, they still probably never did your shaft lube.

Just came back from “Sesame Street Live” an easy 180 miles each way .... and the LX was perfect. But I need to install rear shocks/air bag before my Michigan trip with all of the luggage!

Oh yeah, :-) enough about the LX, my kiddie enjoyed her show and Elmo and Abby came off the stage & danced with her and a few other lucky kids... made her day.. AND mine.
