Those look good! It always cracks me up how some of these Chinese companies so blatantly copy stuff like the ARB lights, even down to the font. I don't blame people for running the knockoffs though, given that ARB charges $500 PER LIGHT! Do those have one as a spot and one with a flood pattern like the ARBs?

They are both the same. More of a driving light than anything (a cross between spot and flood). The light is definitely less focused than a spot. Fine for what I need them for. I'll get a Hella Pencil Beam for long throw lighting.

I don't doubt the ARBs are "nicer", but my budget doesn't allow for that.

I've had those on my truck for probably 18 months, they still work great, no complaints! Great product for the money.

From what I remember, when I bought these for my son (and nephew), they are offered in both spot and flood patterns. We went with 2 "spots" (as geanes did), and I'd have to agree that it is not a "tightly focused spot".

I ordered all the hoses and clamps for the heater Tee replacement for my 98 . Every rubber hose and clamp that holds coolant under the hood and the rear heater

Will get at it in the next few weeks.

What is the total cost of all these replacement parts...if you don't mind me asking...

I definitely don't blame you, there is little value in the ARBs. I think they say something about testing each individual bulb and only picking the brightest, whitest "bin 1" bulbs for their lights, but that doesn't really hold up as an explanation to me, at least not enough to justify $1000. The spot and flood lights definitely look different, I think if I did one of each, the asymmetry would drive me nuts...

Right at $400. I kind of coughed a little bit, but then--the system is only as strong as it's weakest link. The clamps were about $100. It will make the job much easier to replace hoses, clamps and I don't have to worry about the clamp or hose I didn't replace blowing.

All are 20 years old. Losing a motor because I cheaped out would cost way more.

Rear diff and transfer case fluid exchange. Both drain plugs looked pretty good considering they've gone 40k miles since their last fluid change. Just the typical metal paste and luckily no large chunks. Rear diff fluid looked a little dark but could've gone another 10k no problem. Transfer case fluid was jet black and definitely in need of new. Replaced all with M1 Full Synthetic 75W-90 and new crush washers. Next up is front diff and transmission in the coming weeks

Drove it to Hatteras Island.

It occurred to me today that this is the first vehicle I have ever had for more than a year and half without wishing I was driving something else.

What sway bar are you running here?

Amazon. They are the Lumitek 185W 9" versions for $110. Several other mudders have them and have been satisfied. Saw a set on an LC at LC Specialists here in Austin and was impressed by their construction and brightness. They are ridiculously BRIGHT!

I have checked the ARB's out and own the Lumiteks. They appear to be exactly the same from a case stand point. I think some wise Chinese person is running the factory at night. I have never seen a chinese knock off this close to the REAL thing.

Prepping for an updated front end look.......coming soon. I found a black spray paint that at 1st blush looks like the same sheen as the slee powder coat on the blueberry bumper. This is a cheap aftermarket grill I bought from a guy.

The black depos are in...... looks clean and updated. Also took a drive and adjusted them. It's a better light shining on the road than the stock lights I had. Someday, I'll play with the color tempture of the bulbs to maximize the onroad lighting.

With the "stormageddon" (Harvey) reports on TV, I figured it might be a good idea to have some fresh wiper inserts in the LX. Stopped by the Lexus parts dept. ( a ghost town) and picked up a set of inserts.

Great looking. Please take a close up so we can see what switches you have?

I set the sunglass holder at a slight angle to make the switches easier to see. Got the idea from the faq here. The Aux is basically a placeholder as I currently don't have a need for another switch. My Rigid amber fogs are wired to the stock wiring and my Hella 4000's are switched with my high beams.

It's the OEM bar with poly bushings. It had bad rust and pitting on it so I had the link holes welded closed, re-drilled, and then I painted the whole bar red because red car parts give you an extra 5hp.
