I finally had enough of the scratch. I'd left it there as "therapy" - trying to settle into a not-perfect old Land Cruiser. I'm not going to be able to keep it perfect for ever... nor do I really want to. So, the scratch remained.

After 6 months, that was enough. I unscratched the 100...

While i had the stuff out, I unfaded the headlights...

What did you use to remove the scratch and clean up the headlights?

I didn't jack the truck up. With my spare tire located on my swing out, it was easy access! I just removed the 2 bolts and it came right out. I put them both side by side and made the new one 3/4" longer. Idk if it's exactly perfect, but it's pretty close. To line up the bolt holes I did laid on my back and push the passenger side frame with my feet, I was ready for a fight, but it was pretty easy!
So all you had was the bar and a socket? I wouldn't need anything else??

Question....could you tell any difference in the way the car drove after getting it back in line?
Honestly, Its probably not even noticeable, but it really bothered me knowing that my rear axle was out to one side. I will inspect it and get it perfectly centered if it isn't already, I just ran out of time this weekend.

tools needed= 1'' socket, ratchet, large screw driver, and large cresent wrench or channel locks to tighten the adjustable nuts on the new bar. I First screwed in the lower driver side. Then Once I had the bar in position, I used a large flat screwdriver to center the hole for the second bolt. A little bit of leverage and it went through fairly easily. I would say this is a 1 banana job.

Replaced my slightly used tailgate cover with a significantly nicer version, thanks to @TrekboxX .

Before, complete with stains, burn marks, some gross stuff

After, literally 10 minutes later

Glamor shot just because. Looks so nice I was almost tempted to wash and vacuum the rest of the truck for the first time in a year.

For the scratch, I used an orbital buffer (a Flex 3401) with a mildly aggressive cutting compound, then a less aggressive polishing compound, then a finishing polish... then a ceramic sealant.

For the headlights, I started with McGuire's HD kit - the two sanding pads, then the final two polishing steps (same as paint) with the buffer... then the same sealant.

I'll bet the McGuiers kit, on its own - using its final steps instead of switching to the buffer and compounds - would do a great job too.

Picked up 2 sets of tundra wheels thursday, one with new tires one with out tires. Swapped the new tires onto this set and had them put on saturday at work, loving the new wheels!

Installed Ironman Profoam shocks, some new BKG KO2s in prep for a trip to the NC/GA mountains. But not before backing into a Buick at the local grocery store. Light scratch on my rear bumper, but I see an opportunity. Shocks are primo nice, as well as the new shoes.

Where were you able to find the pro foams? I've been searching everywhere and they are out of stock!

Same here... been out of stock stateside for a while now.

Sound upgrade. Replaced factory speaker with after-market cs kickers. '98 TLC speakers come molded as part of the mount, so had to put the dremmel to work. Saved the connectors and existing mount for the install.

Thanks to @Dwight S for the wiring write up and other info

How does it sound?

More crisp/clearer. The old speaker was loud and sharp -- in good shape nonetheless. I plan on adding some sound deadener* material to see if it will even get better.

I agree, more loud and sharp. My factory speakers were not busted or foam deteriorating. They were visually OK. Just sounded bad. A busted speaker buzz with any bass or any tuning adjustments. Now, I can adjust treble, bass, front/rear fade without any nastiness.

Cut some holes in the fender and had a new key cut, swapped over the internals.

I purchased these shocks new from fellow Mudder, Sandroad, in classifieds several weeks ago. He had sold his rig without doing the install if I remember. Hoping Ironman and Metaltech get the supply situation rectified quickly for the rest of you guys.

My new 285/75/17 Cooper ST Maxx came in today and I finally got the spacers and Rock Warriors on. I was surprised that the ST Maxx was so much taller than the 295/75/16 KO2s that came off. I'm really digging it so far.
