Installed Strong Arm rear hatch struts with my 14 yr old son. He wasn't doing anything anyway so did a super simple project together.

Got my newly re-wrapped steering wheel & leather shifter last week and finally had the time to install it this weekend. I also replaced the airbag, replaced all gauge cluster backlight & center console bulbs to LED

Where did you get the wheel wrapped?

I FINALLY replaced the gasket on my oil cooler assembly.

Turns out you can do it w/out draining the coolant and removing the lines.

It was broken at the top, guess 400+K wears on some rubber, lol...

It came out in four pieces with some help.

New one is in and she is sealed up tight again.

Springs are in. I never got around to installing the torsion bar reinforcement brackets and re-indexing them like I had hoped due to family matters, but I will get around to that soon. Figured it wouldn't be that big of an issue to wait, at least the springs will have a chance to settle to final ride height before I match the front. I do have a baaaad case of stink bug right now (pics over-exaggerate it, my driveway is slanted downhill) but like I said the front will soon be raised to a proper rake. I did the install in my garage which has a 7' door....ended up at 7'4" with the roof rack on so that had to come off, and I was still only had about 1/ inch of room between the factory rails and the garage door frame.

To fix that, try parking the opposite way!!!! :grinpimp:

JK... Slap some "heavy metal" on the back and get the torsion bar work done and you'll be right.

I am new to the 100 series. Coming from the 40 forum OCD Bettle has a really successful, fun thread where we post a pic of wheeling, a fix, a new part, etc. for our trucks.

It's neat to see the mix of projects, daily driving issues, weekend wheelin reports, etc.

I thought the 100 forum could use one...

I'll start...today I ordered an Iron Man 2 inch lift kit for my 99'.
New 285's, BFG KM2 and stock 16" wheels courtesy of Hubcap Heaven....selling my 20's....they have no place on an off road rig

Swapped the trasfer case, mine had a leak and now I have time to open it up and fix it, then I'll have a spare for a rainy day, or if anyone wants to buy it let me know

I wired up my front locker indicator in the instrument panel today. I first found this mod DIY here. I followed these instructions almost exactly. I would recommend following these instructions exactly, it is a very good DIY write up. Just for giggles I also stuck a bulb in the 'air filter' indicator socket. Funny thing is that the light comes on and then it goes out after a few seconds just like it should after the system check. I read a few related articles from overseas and supposedly if the light functions in this way it means that the necessary sensor is present and working. Otherwise it would not come on in the first place and definitely not make it through the system check and then turn off.....we shall see. I am going to find out what triggers that filter light and identify it asap.

Edit: My cousin Justin here in Montana, where I am visiting, did an awesome job soldering the bulb connection for me. Thanks cousin!

Cool, I'm so doing this. It was late and dark, when I finished the front airlocker wiring so I bailed on the bonus feature of an indicator light.

What sway bar is that?

Stock. It had some surface rust and pitting in it plus the 2 holes were elongated so I wire wheeled & sanded it clean, then had the holes welded shut and re-drilled. I just painted it with red paint because it's what I had around. Plus, didn't you know red painted parts makes you go faster??

Replaced my upper ball joints with Sankei 555 (#SB3841). A couple of months ago replaced the lower ball joints with 555 joints; the lowers were sold as AcDelco #45D2347 via Amazon. Used a rental C-clamp press from Autozone. I thought I could do the uppers on the vehicle. No way with the press I had. Just not enough room. I removed the upper control arms to do it (I was reluctant to remove them and change the alignment, but I made some match marks with paint, and kept alignment very close to before). The lowers I did on the vehicle without much drama.

A knock I have had through gutters and dips is gone, and the front end feels much smoother and tighter. Improved.

Ran my Fire-Ring coax from the PS rear to the front for my recently installed Cobra 75 WX ST + Firestik II antenna. Getting past the B pillar was a little challenging, but mission accomplished. Squared away cable.
