Replaced driver side rear lower control arm. It was pretty bent as you can see.

all new loaded calipers, lower brake lines and shocks. I didn't realize OEM shocks were tokicos, I assumed they were something else. I would have bought tokicos if I knew. But the new 40$ ones are fine. I sawzalled all four shock tops, it's just to easy not to.

I don't believe anyone could rebuild calipers to look like this for less than 100$ (front) 60$ (rear)

I removed the nav ecu and moved my little jl amp to it's place. I'm Waiting on a 5 channel jl to take the place of both my amps. I have a fosgate amp behind the rear panel by the rear AC unit for a 10" punch that I'm using now..

I've gotten as far as removing the CD changer, the NAV ecu, the OEM headunit, the rear audio controller and the auto antenna/motor/relay.
I'm working on the amp and the back up cam ECU removal next. I'm just too lazy to re wire the pioneer back up cam input. My goal is to just have the stock display and the AC control unit in the future, everything else gone.
I currently have a pioneer avh x7800bt installed. Always a work in progress.

I see you have installed a USB extension to your co some panel- looks like a memory stick for music. Where did you find the USB extension-? Was that plug & play to your stereo unit?

i used this Amazon.com: Rerii 1 Meter 3ft 3.5mm USB AUX Extension Dash Flush Panel Mount Cable For Car, Boat and Motorcycle: Computers & Accessories

yes it was plug and play for pioneer's decks that have rear mounted usb and 3.5 inputs. I didn't think of it at the time but using something like this makes it difficult to completely remove your shifter trim. There's no way to detach the cables underneath.
So really I should have used female to female plugs/ trim.

Aha- yeah I see now. I have the Grom Vline, and wanted to use something like this to make a cleaner interface for USB connection to the Vline. This look like an option. Thanks for the link.

mounted an air tank where the spare use to be and ran a quick connect out the rear bar today.

Timing belt, water pump, pulleys, etc. Four days, at night, in the rain. Good times.

Photo is the "before" :)

How hard of a task was that?
What kit did you use? This is something I want to tackle in the next few months

Other than a couple of tricky parts (getting the crank pulley bolt off & my fan clutch was stuck to it's pulley) it's more time consuming than difficult and most of it is done with 10, 12, and 14 MM sockets. This thread was hugely helpful and you can find the FSM here. My parts list were as follows.

  • Ring O 96761-35035 1 $2.84
  • Ring O 96761-24019 1 $2.67
  • Timing Belt 13568-09070 1 $41.51
  • Serpentine Belt 90916-02586 1 $37.90
  • Thermostat 90916-03100 1 $16.34
  • Thermostat Gasket 16346-50010 1 $3.47
  • Tensioner Pulley 13503-0F010 1 $66.31
  • Tensioner Pulley 13505-0F010 1 $67.26
  • Belt Tensioner 13540-50030 1 $44.54
  • Water Pump Assembly 16100-09201 1 $98.76
  • Oil Filter 90915-YZZD3 1 $3.76
  • Pipe Water 87248-60460 2 $15.38

@93yotasr5 You can buy a complete Aisin kit on Amazon for half the price of what Toyota will charge you for each individual part.
Replace your Cam seals and Crank seal while your at it. Get Toyota FIPG for gaskets.

Thanks, I actually found a couple kits that use Toyota/mitsuboshi/aisin parts.
Works for me!!

These landed on my front porch today. Looking forward to putting them on and re-indexing/reinforcing the torsion bars

On my 2004 lx470:
AHC fluid flush, coolant exchange, heater Ts, rear diff and Tcase fluid, tranny and Tcase breather extension. Still need to do front hubs and reboot CVs...

I installed Bilstein 4600's in the front today. One of the OEM's was covered in oil so that explains the crappy ride. It's definitely got a better ride. It'll be interesting to see if the rear shocks make a difference. 185k on the OEM's so not too bad...
