I suppose that explains the low compression.

This ridge likely didn't help either. 380k miles on that engine. We dropped in one with 92k miles.

Passenger side exhaust manifold cracks. Welded up and ground back out. So much better, just wish I can talk my self into doing the drivers side now.

Trying hard to figure out what happened to that valve. Any ideas?

Did you do the welding yourself? What kinda price tag this have for a shop to repair a crack if I take just the manifold to them? My wife's GX470 passenger side is tic tic ticking when cold on startup....

Yes I welded it myself. I'm not to sure what a shop would charge to weld it and clean it back up. I'm just too cheap to splurge on a set of headers or on something that is flawed from the factory to go buy another one. Depending on the manifold, there probably isn't more than 15 to 20 minutes of weld time if every exhaust port needed touched up. The problem is then cleaning them back up and also maintaining the surface area without warping the flanges.

pfran LED kit came in, i placed them in all worked great. I'm gonna have to change out my license plate lens covers they have about had it from the weather. My door light covers need to be replaced as well i didn't know how bad a condition they were in until i went to change out the bulbs. Pictures are of the map lights, dome lights, door lights and back up lights. Backup light picture is of the bulb before i put the LED reverse light in. The reverse light are extremely bright and i am very pleased with all of the lights. 100 Series - Interior LED kit

Took it for a spin on the Beartooth Highway and down through Yellowstone on the way home. Noticed my 'PWR' and '2ND' buttons were beyond crusty and stuck. Pulled up the center console and have begun to clean up the PO's latte disaster I discovered. Anybody have a recommendation on a good contact cleaner or something that could clean this crust and gunk up without damaging the electronics?

I had the same issue - pulled them completely out and soaked them with alcohol while working the switches. After I got them cleaned up, I sprayed some Caig DeoxIT on them. Been a year and they still work like new.

Thanks for the tip! Plan on picking some up today and giving them a good soak and scrub.

1 down 1 to go. Putting in some sound deadening while I'm there.

The 3M kit works really well with a cordless drill (at low RPM of course). I've been skeptical of these kits only because I'm not sure how long the supplied protectant/UV coating will last, but I'll keep my eyes on them. Other than that the results are pretty good considering it wasn't much work at all. My lights were far from the worst I've seen but I'm OCD so it had been bugging me for a while.
