It was sugested to me that I make some tube doors but I'm thinking half doors would be really kewel....more protection from Rain, Mud, Wind....ect!
Has anyone done this?
Any thoughts??
Yeah I think I would keep the upper frames.I've had a full set of doors for a couple years now and have planned on doing this. Not sure if I'm ever going to get to it, so I might have doors for sale if you are looking for some.
Anyway, something that seems to be important is to keep the upper door frames. Some are concerned about the amount of body flex that could happen while wheeling and that the regular doors may not fit correctly when put back on. Personally I think people are overly concerned. Guys with 4Runners are seen wheeling doorless all the time and their doors go back on just fine. Sure, the 80 is heavier than a 4Runner but an 80's frame is much beefier too and probably flexes less.
Anyway, by keeping the upper door frames I think if there was any body flex, it would be kept to a minimum with the door frames in place. Besides I think halfdoors look better with the full frames.
Sorry dude! I didn't get by the shop quick enough, they already had them in when I got there!cool. cant wait to see pics.
