When I get an LC later this year, I am looking to take out the third row seats since I don’t have a use for them, but could use more cargo space. I was thinking there might be a way to use them in my workshop, but thought someone might have come up with something else. What does everyone do with the seats when they take them out?

Pack them in a cardboard box for twenty years til you’re sure you really, really, really don’t need them then offer them up for free, then throw them in the dumpster. This is my experience, actual results may vary:rofl:

spot on assessment of the 80/100/200 series owner experience.

Exactly.
Mine are collecting dust...and rust on the metal parts... Been staring at them for years now.
Skip this needless limbo status...and send em to the heap.

Thinking about making a couch out of mine. Wood frame that the seats would bolt to.

My experience too. I kept those seats from 1999 to 2017. Then, tossed them in the dumpster. Considering doing the same with the second row, also stored for a decade, but unneeded.

Buy the 2020 heritage edition 200 series. They come with no third row seats. 😀
I thought about this when I saw the announcement, but I expect they are charging a premium for it...and in essence providing less since it comes without the third row. While they make up for it a bit with other add ones, it still just doesn’t seem to compute right for me.

Thanks everyone for the input! The “sat in a corner until I threw them out” response is actually what I expected...and am hoping to avoid.

This is along the lines of what I am thinking, figure something like this would be a good workshop addition. (Pretty sure my bride would not be keen on it showing up in the house proper.)

You should see how much Porsche charges for less weight and less sound insulation.

Speak with @Eric Sarjeant about how much premium these will be getting. He's indicated he'll have access to a few of them.

If the premium isn't too much, those black headlights and bronze wheels will be difficult and/or expensive to get any other way.

Anyone want a pair of third row seats... tan leather, unused.

Kidding... not kidding... mine are still sitting in the garage since the day after I bought the truck. They'll go out next time we have large item trash pickup.

Yeah, I have some nice black ones in my basement

I did manage to give away the hidden headrests from my third row...to a fellow mud guy missing them somehow. Beyond that..mine are gathering dust like dveryone else’s...

I put a set in my FJ40 as a front bench seat.

I'd like to see that 👍 Mine are in bags in the loft of my shop but I've considered the shop couch use for them as well. My 3rd row out of my 80 saw the dumpster as well after years of sitting they eventually mildewed. I said I wouldn't let that happen to these so the first one to mount theirs to a couch frame post it up for inspiration
