Interesting... the Very First Thing I did after I bought my LC on Monday, was to wrestle those out of it!

It took all of 2 hours for my wife to see them in the garage and ask "Where did those come from? Are they going to stay there?"

Clearly your garage is way too clean. You need enough clutter that she wouldn’t notice the incremental additional clutter.

My wife won't let me take them out. She is convinced we will need them for some unknown to me passengers. I found some seat covers that cover them in the folded position of the LC. We'll see how long her dream lasts. I've only had it 6 weeks and I'd love to take them out.

Pack them in a cardboard box for twenty years til you’re sure you really, really, really don’t need them then offer them up for free, then throw them in the dumpster. This is my experience, actual results may vary

I thought it was different. Or different enough to not work. I checked between a 2013 and 2016 and thought it didn’t work. I’ll double check!

Don't send them to the dumpster. Put them on Craigslist in the free stuff section or on Offer Up, FB Marketplace, etc. Someone will use them and wear them out. That's a lot better than throwing something that's hardly been used into a dumpster, IMHO. I gave away the rear seats in my 80 for free when I bought it over a decade ago. The guy who got the seats was stoked.

I keep mine bagged on a shelf in the garage. I plan to put them back in when I sell the truck. Or I've also entertained the notion of removing the second row but leaving the 3rd row for a longer cargo space when folded up, and a nice roomy snowboard/ski boot-fitting lounge when folded down.

This is exactly what I did with my 100 series' seats. I re-installed them when I traded it for my current 200 series. My 200 series seats are now in the basement sitting on shelves. This is where they will remain until we change residences, we get a new SUV to replace our current LC or I pass away. Whichever comes first.
