Then went home and found the source of my ticking/knocking 5vz

Pretty sure this is 285k on the original belt, new parts in and no more knocking

Is the truck a rocket ship now?

Sitting on the floor with @nab856 in a circle deliberating on how to coax the bushings to pop the bolts out.

Did the Dobinson's come with shackles? Sawsall if they did. I don't know about the 60, but on the mini-trucks the rear frame mount has a metal sleeve inside the bushing. It rusts to the bolt and the only way to get the bolt off is destruction.

The sawsall wasn't powerful enough; we ended up angle grinding the bolts off. I'll take pics when I get back.

This job is a serious undertaking. The interweb makes it look easy, but it's not. Finally figured out an approach that got a leaf spring out, and didn't need a welder to add metal back. Rolling up the sleeves and getting dirty again today.

My day dissolved. If you need more hands I can probably get away. Check your DM

Lots of things have happened. I will try and do a write-up on a separate thread when everything is done. For now, some pictures.

I replaced the load-sensing proportioning valve for the rear brakes of an '87 Toyota 4runner. I purchased a rebuild kit for the rest of the system and will install the boot and arm next. Hydraulics 😍

Finished the LSP valve install and bled the brakes.

I can use my grocery getter again without swapping paint with a vehicle in front of me! 😁

One of my A/C line got rubbed and opened up a tiny hole. It was completely my fault for not noticing it, but replacing this line was comical due to the amount of effort it required. The front bumper needed to move 1/2" forward so that a bolt can come all the way out! Luka just hung out on the back of Beastie while giving me moral support.

Busting out the tools and getting dirty! Great afternoon endeavor. :) No refrigerant for my old Toy's. I'm jealous.
I horde R12 at every opportunity so keep an eye out! My DD is still on R12.

Cleaned the throttle body on my 4th Gen 4Runner. Easy enough. 195k and had probably never been cleaned.

Replaced and bled the steering fluid too, again 195k and never changed as far as I know. Unfortunately I used WS instead of ATF so I gotta do it again.....
