Thanks, that's where I thought you installed it but sure is nice to see it in a pic. I'll get the same panel for her ride then run it straight to the battery with a fuse.

I was wondering what the reason was to have a fuse at the panel. I always keep the fuse as close to the battery as possible.

Yeah I think that’s a much better way to do it, I need to plan out how I’m going to wire in accessories, would really like to have a fuse block with some switched power for some things and constant for others.
I was wondering what the reason was to have a fuse at the panel. I always keep the fuse as close to the battery as possible.

The fuse on the panel is kinda weird, not sure how much good it’s going to do that far from the battery but maybe the on/off switch can be moved there and I can put another usb plug or cigarette lighter in it and just run a small fuse block in the engine bay.

Having a "local" fuse is convenient should you blow it by accident. It saves you from having to pop the hood, I suppose. :hmm: The downside is that the fuse is a glass fuse, not found anywhere else in the 4Runner!
 
Finally put the heat shielding on to protect the plastic while using the stove. Hopefully it'll work!

Im thinking one of the painless wiring fuse blocks with a relay for switched power and a few slots of constant is what I'm going to end up running it off of

It seems like its all I have been doing for the last month. Front struts on a Tundra, my LX, the boy's 4 runner, and have the wife's GX to do.

Jack's 4runner doesn't have a saggy behind anymore.

Yeah, I guess I am kind of a bad influence. My son and daughter have 4Runners, wife has the GX470, sister bought an LX470 because she liked mine, Father and mother in law have 2 Lexus cars and a Tundra.

The kids know that if they don't drive Toyotas they lose their free mechanic.
 
After 34 years I finally have real rock sliders on the 4R. Thanks to Gary and Mark at K2 Industries in Rio Rancho who fabricated and installed them. This old fella is quite giddy.

Springs and alignments for everyone!

Took advantage of a recent Ironman sale and everyone got green springs. Finally got to the GX.

Also bought a Quick Trick alignment tool. It is pretty slick. Might have to get new upper control arms for the GX because I can't get enough caster, but I will play with it more today.

I get camber and toe, how do you measure caster with that apparatus?
Its really easy. After measuring camber you turn the steering 20° then rezero, then turn back the 20° plus an additional 20°, then multiply the reading by 1.5. This gives you the caster measurement.

It seems really accurate. I swapped the frames from one side to the other and got the exact same measurements.
