Picked up one Fel-Pro today. Will grab a second tomorrow. Contacted Josh at Lowe Toy with a small parts list. He responded very quickly. Turns out the oil pan gasket I got a couple of years ago was NOT a 2F pan gasket. Bummer. Guess the pan install will have to wait until next weekend unless Fox Toy has one here in KTown I can pick up tomorrow.

Was the oil pan gasket not fitting?

Thanks Cam. Guess I need to find out if I'll be plugging both or not. Thought I read that the top will still be used and the bottom one plugged. I do know one of the nipples broke off of the top valve when I removed the hoses.

Matt, the gasket I have only has like 7 holes across it long ways, then like 3 holes on the short ends. It may be for something else on a 2F. I'll snap a pic of it tomorrow and post up.

I suppose I need to start a thread for my desmog. My questions will start piling up here in a week or so when I start putting stuff back together.

Found this old pic. That's how I ran it for several years. I checked the date on my pictures and the header gasket has been holding for 5.75 years!! :knocks on wood:

Yeah that wouldn't be a 2f gasket. I usually leave both valves in the water neck. Hate draining the water out if I dont have to.

I have a 4 piece gasket I would be happy to give you if you want it Andy.

Got almost all the wiring on the Gazoo done and put the driver's side fender and apron on.

Swapped my 206K mile transmission for one with 260K..
Works mush better now.

I went from 4, up to 5 shifters in the cab of the Gecko.

So now you will be stopping even more often in the middle of the trail trying to find the right gear?

Thanks Heif, but my order has already gone through. Hope it arrives by the weekend so I can get something done.

My son just said "Will I be 10 when the Land Cruiser is fixed?" That stung a little.

Something like that, yes.

Actually, according to some people, when I drop into my new lowest gear, I may actually travel back in time! :hhmm:

Sounds like the comments in the Gazoo thread.

New quick-pin door hinges done! yay!

That looks more like an oil pan gasket..

Spent five hours working on the oil pan gasket today. What a royal pain in the neck. (Literally) New gasket thickness makes it tough to get the bolts threaded. Managed to get longer bolts in to hold it in place but still unable to get it close enough to thread the pan bolts. The front and rear seals are causing the headache. One piece gasket. No troubles lining up the gasket, just can't get the front or rear close enough to get a pan bolt started.

First attempt was with the gasket tied to the pan. But that was impossible for me. Next, tied the gasket to the block and installed the pan. That helped a lot, but still a struggle. Will try to give it a go again tomorrow. Do I need to put a jack under the pan and try to press it on that way?

I think the mystery gasket I have is the side cover gasket.
