Wife dropped by RHT yesterday and picked up a few things. Had a friend pickup a few parts for me as well. :bounce:

Nobody likes a tease Matt, spill the beans already :hillbilly:

Both dome lights work, new stereo speakers and new rubber around the drivers door window. Now I can see and I can hear, but I can't hear the rattle of the window.:bounce:

I just need to get a new spare tire pulley and make a decision about rust and she'll be ready.

Regarding the pulley, I do not want to replace the chain type that the 62 came with. I would rather get the cable type like the 100 and my tacoma had. I've removed the cross member and will refinish it. Just got to find one for the right price that fits if possible.

If you can't find a cable type, I have a chain type from a mini truck that you can have for free. It's rust free and turns smoothly. I can bring it to Barley's.

Thanks! I'll keep this in mind and let you know.

I lifted my 62 at Docs' place this weekend...Anybody have some shocks that will fit a lifted (5") 62?
There's pics on the LCLC HAMOM thread.
I made some drop brackets so I can drive it until I get some longer shocks.

Serviced my front axle with a lot of help from my friends! But now my ABS light is on so I'm gonna try and clean and remount them. Maybe that'll fix it! I hope... Also forgot to bend the tabs down on one of the spindle nut lock washers or whatever you call it, so I guess I need to go back into it:(

I hope the birfields had the ring on them for the ABS sensors!

If that isn't it, the sensors are very very brittle after a that many years and can get cracked or dislodged easily while servicing the axle.

Good luck!

The GX got Mobil 1 in the diffs and t-case and the wiring for the fridge is 95% complete.

I'm not having any luck finding an official service center for my Waeco fridge. Tech support is almost non-existent on the Dometic/Waeco website. Many of the "authorized" service centers listed on their main site don't exist or don't know what a Waeco freezer/fridge is. May wind up just finding a general appliance service company and see if they'll take a look at it.

Fridge is in and wired up! Cooling as we speak!

Very good to know. Did Waeco have any input?

this may help people decide if they want to do it themselves or take it somewhere...

I pulled the head on the new 1987 60 with 161k on the odometer (ok minor paint issues) (with a supposed blown head gasket) only to find.... .50 over pistons, and perfect cylinder walls..pretty strange for a vehicle with 161k on the clock...:hhmm:

While taking the head off I noticed only 1 of 15 head bolts were as tight as I thought they should have been, the intake exhaust bolts/studs were only 15-20 ft/lb tight. (the intake/exhaust gasket was in 3 pieces) the carb nuts were all barely on. Even the spark plugs were super loose. :whoops: I kept telling my friend in the shop, someone has been in this engine,, it was weird, I thought maybe the PO had pulled one over on me... that he started to do the repair and backed off...the heat riser shield had been torn in half and that is metal/plastic.....

So what we have here is a failure to use a torque wrench  by the PO or the guy he bought the cruiser from or his mechanic, or or or...

Tomorrow, I am pulling the oil pan to check all the bolts on the crank retaining caps and connecting rods... really anything I can find in/under there... transmission~transfer case, clutch and all bolts I can think of. Just in case.....

Parts came in from SOR!
Front shocks, lots of various fasteners and spring hanger pins.
So I finally have everything I need to finish my lift.
Tonight I unpacked everything, organized and got the front shocks mounted (didn't have much time, had to shovel the drive).
I'm hoping to finish all my brake lines and the lift on Saturday.
Weather people are calling for -18degC though so it might be a touch chilly!
Good thing we have a wood-stove in the garage, bad thing the garage is NOT well insulated;)
