Found some really cheap oil for the 80 at the blue light store.

In the last three days I've changed out the following:
- oil (Shell Rotella 15w40) and filter (my last OEM 90915-20004)
- greased all the DS zirks and added grease to the birfs
- PCV valve and grommet
- new manifold heat shields and hardware
- swapped in a lower mileage IAC valve to attempt to cure a high idle in hot weather situation (there's a thread out there)
- pulled the throttle body and thoroughly cleaned it and replaced the gasket and a few of the associated vacuum lines
- change the spark plugs (all looked tip-top)

I need a long weekend to get a few more projects done!

Rotella T6 at wal mart is the same price where I live, not on sale. I saw it as high as $29 at a major auto parts store.

Funny that blue light store didn't have T6 for some reason. Also heard so much good thing about DELO Dino oil I figured the full synthetic ones must be pretty awesome too and want to give it a try.

I bought the T6 from Amazon for about 24 a bottle so not a huge difference, but that DELO is the cheapest full synthetic oil around here.

Got the 8800 installed. Love this radio. Now to wire up the 7900 into the 4r

I've been using the Delo dino since I purchased my truck (great reviews led me to it). I had to make a quick pit stop/oil change a month ago and had to settle for Valvoline and now I have a small leak (pan arch I think). Going back to the Delo 20W-50 quickly! They also sell a full synthetic 75W-90 gear oil that was less than half the price of Mobil 1 that I used for the knuckle rebuild...I've been quite happy with it and will use it exclusively.

I tried using Mobil One synthetic a while back (6-8 years). Didn't realize it was so much thinner than conventional oil. It leaked like crazy. Do the newer synthetics do the same? Assuming I haven't replaced any of the leaky gaskets and leak oil like Kuwait in 1991. :)

Gave ol' girl a good interior scrubbing and took my son fishing. A nice little drive on the interstate and then some dirt roads. She cruised along at 75 like she was made for it! And loved the dirt/mud roads! A trip like this tells you just how insanely capable and versatile these rigs are. Hauled everything we needed and were the only people fishing on the pond because the "road" was "closed" due to high water. Stock height and BFG AT KOs.

Headed out for GSMTR after work Wednesday. Stopped to get gas a few miles from home and smelled grease. Had smoke from drivers side wheel. Let it cool and headed back home. After it cooled I pulled it apart to find the bearing was toast. Spindle was damaged and had to chisel the nuts and washer off to get it all apart. New spindle and wheel bearings and got it all back together Thursday morning to make it to GSMTR for some wheeling fun.

@Dr Gil came over while I was doing some packaging. Extended the cables for his HF 12k winch controller to mount it in the front of the battery. Got it all wired up and working.

Removed the wire cable from the drum (easy part) and replaced it with synthetic from @Southeast Overland (hard part). Got it all spooled up and showed Gil how to use it. Made him realize he still needs to buy another $350 in proper winching gear :p

Replaced all four of his window runs, nothing a little WD40 won't assist with.

Fixed the wiring in one of his front speakers.

Gave away the old seats from my 60.

I need to make a trip to LA. I have zero MUD members anywhere near me. Stuff is so much easier to do with two people!
