Next up: Checking door switches and overhead light switches. The rear dome light comes on if I wiggle the door switches (all 4 act this way), but the front doesn't work in any position most of the time. Going to try cleaning the switches first before spending the $90 to just replace them. Will also replace the bulbs with LEDs when they get here. Going to try a red LED in the map light in hopes that I will be able to drive with it on for a passenger's use. From the pictures, there is no chance of that with the whites.

I got a can of contact cleaner and sprayed out all four door switches which made a huge difference. Of the four bad switches only one of them has any issues at all now - the driver door - DOH! So I switched it with the passenger side and will replace it soon. I am glad the connection for the front doors can be just pulled through to change them out.

Took out the dome lights and cleaned them too. One bulb was bad so the LEDs need to get here soon. But both switches now work consistently in both DOOR and ON positions when I swapped the one working bulb.

First snow trip!!!

Went to the beach, Gearhart Oregon

Love that area! Try and get down there once a year.

Dragged a trailer from Tacoma, WA out to Tooele, UT with a buddy to pick up a mutual friend's Cummins swapped 40 and all the old bits.

Got to meet Onur and Woody.

Rolled 291k on the way home, got 17mpg without the trailer. The 40 pulled the trailer over passes at 75, it was beastly.

Lots of driving, but a great Fri-Sun road trip!

Damn wish I had known I have an engine there that I needed shipped to the PNW.

Got her a couple weeks ago. Previous owner tried to rhino line it and failed.
Figured I'd give it a shot. Also did around the rockers. (and no, I didn't pint the gas door, previous owner painted it) Started with a gut job. Pretty happy with the results. Got my rack from Rebel Offroad, had to modifiy it slightly to fit.
That also got painted along with the front/rear bumper. Pretty good wknd!

Carrizo Creek Wash on Sunday with my buddy's 80 and his family for a day in the desert with my daughter, dog, and 80. 1849 Butterfield Stage Route ran down the wash. Anza Borrego desert, Imperial County, Kalifornia. Chilly 69 deg. F. ;)

Filled it with gas and rolled 185k on the odometer too, highest miles I have ever had on a vehicle.

Over Xmas I put an ARB bumper and Warn 9.5ti winch on...

This weekend I took the LC into the cold wind to look for some open water to fly fish.
No fish caught, but I now have a strange rumble around 100km/h. :bang:

You must be new. All the door latch pins (including tailgate) serve this purpose. It's a design feature Toyota built into the truck from the factory. ;)

New indeed. Unfortunately none of the factory bottle openers say "Fat Tire" on them. :)

I always found it odd how popular it was to add a beer opener to your vehicle..... I mean it is against the law to drink and drive.

You must not like to go camping in ur rig very much :)

Nothing better then a long day on the trail and a cold beer by the camp fire afterwards!

Took out intake manifold and Fuel injectors and had them services, after 200K miles, to my surprise they were only two out of the 6 that really needed a cleaning. All are within 1.5% flow rate now.
Re-install manifold, injectors, new seals, new plugs, new ignition wires. Only had three extra bolts after all that work. Not bad.

noice man!!!howd she hold up?

where is that? forest hill?

Truck stuck like glue. I was very impressed with the suspension on the twisties and rough snow patches. The tires never lost grip once that I could tell.

Place was Echo Lake. http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=23070 Did most of our free time there. Then did the sled thing behind the Chevron everyone stops at south of Kyburz.
