Took the pig down to Natural Bridge area in Kentucky. She's been down there a few other times and done great, but this time we hung out with some friends with real rock crawlers... They encouraged me to take her places i never would have thought a stock (1" spring spacers, 285/75 MTs) LC would be able to go. I even surprised all of them, they looked at her in whole new light afterwords. Time for mods now and getting rid of that reciever hitch.

Upper facelift, lower to follow..

Thought she was looking a bit tired and long in the tooth, so dechromed the front (apart from bumper, sorting that out next weekend) sprayed headlight, sidelight trims and the grill satin black.

painted in the "toyota" in red, but the sun on these pics prevents it showing properly.

I need one more run over the grill anyway but the lettering worked out better than I thought, I'll put some decent pics up when its finished, but I much prefer the overall look than the tired old chrome.

(by) next weekend its bumper off, dechrome, bash it straight along with the l/h bracket, from minor bump at some point, hammerite black and back on straight.

I might look at cutting the OEM bumper ends a bit more stylish too.

one more pic from a different angle.

Buttoned up the 4" lift and took it for a test drive. Only got up to 50 mph but it drives really nice so far....no vibes, tracks straight and stops straight...:steer:

And they fell for that? Good for you!

Quite a bit:

Removed carpet, installed thermaguard and sound proofing material
Drained all the water out of the truck from getting stuck in a mud hole. IH8MUD!!!
Caliper rebuild and new pads
Slee SS brake lines
Slee wiring harness
Fixed the radio. PO did a s***ty job on the install
Currently installing OME springs on the front.
Heading to GA to pick up some trim parts from another mudder who is parting out an LC

That is about enough for now.

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

New solid spacer for 9.5" rear, set pinion preload, waiting for new pinion seal to finish the rebuild. Trying to get it ready for ACC Invitational next weekend.

I finally put an IH8MUD sticker on the rear window.

Took off the passenger side door card, pulled the window out, cleaned the window runners with hot water and simple green, lubed window runners with silicone spray, reinstalled window, got started installing polk speaker.

Also, PO had somehow managed to swap the reverse and turn signal lights on the RH rear. put them right.

Hope to have the polk door speakers active and the excremental pioneers in the dash removed before the end of the weekend.

Added Blutooth and autopage remote start keyless entry. I worked all day saturday and 4 hours sunday morning. Still trouble shooting remote start. I am burned out for this weekend. So nice not to fumble with keys after 14 years and hear phone when I get a call. Moving into 21st century :)

Cleaned the new 80

Cleaned the new purchase front to back. Still need to finish cleaning the leather and the head liner. Never leave an unopened soda in a black car on a hot day. I've been cleaning Dr. Pepper out of every possible crevice on that thing today. Now to start making the list of upgrades I want to make. Short list, new speakers, CB, 2 meter, driving lights, and fog lights.

Winch in Stock Bumper 90% Done

So I decided to put a winch inside of the stock bumper and got the parts during the week last week. I took off the bumper during the week (pitching the plastic ends) and waited until this weekend to cut the plate and install the winch. I got 90% done with it (all the important stuff anyway) due to 2 rounds of trick or treating, taking the kids to Grandma & Grandpa's house, and a few trips to the park with my 3 boys. I could have completed the whole thing by the end of Saturday but when you only have an hour or so at a time to do stuff it take a lot longer. Anyway, the winch is on (12k Badlands from HF, Plate from HF all for $325ish shipped) and installed. Tested it and rewound the cable by pulling the Cruiser up the driveway using my wife's Sequoia as an anchor. Good fun! Now for cutting the bumper ends off a little more on a V to give the new 35s a better chance of contacting before the bumper and cutting the hole for the fairlead. Did I mention the 35s I got this week...couldn't pass up the killer deal.

Oh, don't mind the leaves in the pics. I decided not to do them and instead did the winch. :D

Installed Polk 6.5" speakers in the front doors, ran stereo USB and microphone wires, turned OBD II connector, ran cabling for and wedged ScanGuage II in pocket under aftermarket stereo, perfect fit, installed modified Blue fan clutch (25,000 oil), installed Innovative Wiring dual parking/flashers up front, installed 2 Discovery cup holders, installed factory CDL switch...and drove it. :)

Finished installing the Polk 6.5's in the front doors. I am very disappointed. Right now they are very boom-and-tizzle and needed a lot of tweaking in the eq to sound halfway normal. I hope the mids open up with some time and use. They responded well to EQ but still, I shouldn't have to move 80hz down 6db and 1khz up 5db.

Just ordered a pair of the ubiquitous pioneer TS-G1641R. I'll do a rear door install with those and maybe ultimately swap them around.
