So I went ahead and started removing them all. Looks meaner!

Well my paint guys were nice enough to do a good job on the intake and valve cover....

:)

Just waiting on the head from the machine shop

Holy rice dude!!!!

I do like how you treat your cams

As far as my 80. I drove her into the driveway and put the McMaster-Carr rear hatch struts on her and like not walking into the hatch anymore.

Picked up my new LC Saturday after work. Sunday I dropped it off to get washed and the carpets shampooed. Picked it up after watching the Niner's kick ass, then cleaned and conditioned the leather...:grinpimp:

Me and a buddy took the 80 quail hunting in the Mendocino National Forest. Never got a shot off, so it was more of a scouting trip than a hunting trip...that's my story anyway. Still trying to find places to hunt in NoCal. I'm from SoCal and heading out to the Mojave for the quail opener in 2 weeks. So guess what i'll be doing with the 80 the next two weekends --> :wrench:

took a trip down forthe 10th annual Pismo Jamboree!!!!
had a blast and the truck did awesome there and back!!!

Where did you mount the thermocouple? In the manifold? Pics? What guage did you use? I've got the parts to install my EGT, boost, and tranny temp guages, just need to find time to do it!

No pics, but the thermocouple was installed in a prominent flat spot right in the middle of where all the cylinders meet in the manifold (very obvious once the heat shield is removed). If you want to do it in the truck, you'll need an air drill or other small drill for clearance reasons.

I used an ISSPRO gauge with the colour gradient for temperature. The only gauge that I still need to install is tranny temp.

Is it cheating to show 2 weekend's in one post? Oh well.

I brought home my first 80 a few weeks ago. It had some tweaked bodywork.

So I fixed it. Wow that's some thin tin. You can almost use your bare hands to hammer and dolly these panels! Both headlights were busted so of course, DEPO. A rear corner was busted out so in went a pair of smoke DEPO leds just because. Did a quick ghetto blended respray on the F/R right corners. Will do a real full-body repaint in a year or two.

Next up I needed to re-key the driver-side door lock that didn't match the key. This was easier than I expected. Thank-you Google and a Supra forum that doesn't require registration to see the pictures.

As you can see above I am lacking a front bumper. So after spending 2 weeks reading bumper threads and trying to make up my mind between 3 really nice products I just decided to make one. Besides, I really wanted a plasma cutter anyway.

So I started making a template. And ordered a plasma cutter.

Yeah, I'll fill and radius that ugly corner peeking out under the corner light.

I thought the lines came out nice. The AC evap has to be relocated a few inches, so I'll be working on that soon. And the running boards are gone. Also sewed on a wheelskin steering wheel cover. Having a nice clean surface to grasp makes all the difference in the world.

Ben the new guy

Cruisin the Woods as well. :hillbilly:

bedliner for me too....white roof then color matched to the 045 super white where the flares used to be and lower doors also across the front of the hood and across the bottom of the rear hatch and tailgate

I tried the non color matched white everywhere first but did not like it, looks much better now

I didn't have time or desire to sand and paint more, so the front bumper and sliders are at the powder coater getting color matched to the gunmetal wheel color, things are going to look a lot better

^^. Pics?^^.

Any concern over the white liner yellowing?

none yet, weather has been nasty since, might just take some in the garage.

I used monstaliner, supposed to be UV stable...hope so, it is a lot of work.

Here are some not so wide view shots while it is in the garage. I'll get some more of the overall when the bumper/sliders get back.

Lots of prep time over the last week or so, but proper planning prevents poor performance and all that.
