Not too long, 30-45 min. Two bolts holding it onto the block. One nut holding the battery cable on and one plug. Pretty straight forward.
Great thanks for sharing! I got a new starter to install in mine.

Haven't posted for a while. I was struggling to get my wife's LC80 running right for a while. She is finally reliable and the LC is running great now as well.
This weekend I finally got to do some easy fun bolt on projects. New rear hatch and hood struts, new window wind deflectors, and touched the front grill up a bit. I also put a cheap Amazon shift boot on the transfer case shifter. I cant believe how much OEM shift boots go for!!!
I'm going to re-do the shift boot at some point because I glued one of my fat polish sausage fingers to the pleather while I was gluing the boot to its metal frame and ripped a finger print size patch of pho leather off the boot. Oops. Good thing it was only $11.

I appreciate your posts with great reference pics on your projects...and your dedication keeping these old lumps on the road! And nice forks on the Deere...a must have for a palletized motor!
Thanks, yah the forks are awesome the only downside is my tractor is only a 1025 and it really struggles once I get it up a couple feet in the air but it gets the job done.

Very big weekend on the tools for my HDJ81.

Had a hell of a time installing Slee extended brake lines on my truck. Front right hard line flare nut rounded while attempting to remove. Cut the end off and attempted to re-flare the line, then the line itself failed. Ended up making an autozone run to make a whole new hard line. Similar situation in back but managed to salvage the existing hard line and get the extended brake line installed without too much fuss.

Onto the fun part, installed Dobinsons springs and IMS shocks. Got the heavy duty C59-170 front springs and C59-171 rear springs as this truck is an overlanding build and will be pretty heavy in its final form.

Final product:

I still have some of the supporting work to do, but the worst of the install is over and I am stoked with how well the truck rides now, and how much better it looks with the lift.

To do:
Adjustable front panhard
Steering damper
Rear panhard lift bracket
35 inch all terrains

Altogether, a very successful weekend on the tools and I am really exited to see this thing start to take shape how I had envisioned.

Installed a new Midland MTX275

I got these same lights back in NOV black Friday sale and getting ready to wire these up. Do you know if you can supply power to both the yellow and white DRLs at the same time? For example, power to white DRL is from IGN on source. Power to yellow DRL is from turn signal source. So when yellow DRL gets power, does the white DRL automatically turn off and the yellow DRL comes on? Not sure if power to both DRLs would short it out once the turn signal power is supplied. Any answers appreciated.
Well you can wire one to the turns and one to the running lights so I would assume if one cuts out before the other cuts in it’s fine? I would ask box rocket as he seems to know much more about them and may be some sort of brand ambassador? Or just partners with them?

Back on the ground. Ordered shocks last night and waiting on a brake fitting, but getting close!!

Got up early this morning to hike up the local mountain and ski down before work. Got off the hill just as my 15 yo rolled up in the LX470 to start his hike on a day off from school.

Pretty cool to see the two trucks together in their natural element.

A buddy of mine connected me to a local-ish company that was looking for an 80 to prototype some parts on… (bumpers, skids, sliders, roof rack, molle panels, tailgate storage). They were doing stuff for the Jeep market but are tired of people trying to haggle on their already reasonable pricing on those (sub $1k bumpers). Long story short, just dropped off my truck there this morning for a few weeks and am excited to see what they come up with!

Keep us informed!
