Replaced that split air intake hose today. Got a Beck-Arnley brand replacement from Rockauto.com for $42 - half as much as the Dorman brand replacement (the Dorman did come with new hose clamps.) The B-A replacement hosei is actually a bit longer than the old stock hose but that did not inhibit installation of the replacement part.

That's not OEM. Better start saving up for a head gasket.

Installed red head steering gearbox. Amazing difference in driving. If your steering is loose just do this.

I first tried rebuilding my leaking one, just could not get it to tighten up. Was cool to see how these things work but never doing that again.

First bath; couldn't ask for a nicer day for a spa treatment. Who knows how long it's been since she's had a nice bath? This Chemical Guys foam sprayer is awesome. It smells like candy!
Relaxing to do a simple task as washing the truck after doing lots of hard work baselining.

Wow, that gorgeous! Looks like they don't make for the FZJ80, that's too bad
Correct, only 1HDT exhausts. I think another AU company Beaudesert Exhausts makes a similar stainless version for the 1FZ-FE but it's $$$ plus international shipping.

Nice looking system! Who made this?

What brand did you go with

Torqit. Not too many people running their 80 series exhausts - seems like they just came out a year or so ago. I saw them on 4WD 24/7, they mainly make exhausts for more modern options like 70 series and Patrols. 3", 304 stainless.

What was your all in cost from Torqit if you don’t mind me asking? Thinking about the superior engineering route as well. Need a new exhaust soon. 1 HD-T motor in my HDJ81. Thanks.

I dealt directly with one of their sales guys because I couldn't order through the site from the US. They gave me a price of about $1300 AUD for the exhaust and $900 AUD for freight, for a grand total of about $1600 USD

That's exactly what I paid for the exhaust I have

That's HTX AC! I like analog with less tech, but the ball chiller, paired with the fan in the Recaros, is the best feature in the 80. ATMO these are more comfortable than the scheel-manns.View attachment 3311408

Price point? And do you use a planted seat bracket for install? They look comfy! How have I not seen these in a 80 before? Dean are you breaking new ground?

Hey, Wes. Planted brackets W/ Recaro sliders. Dan and crew at 425motorsports are awesome guys!
These are Recaro Orthoped: so comfortable yet sporty.
This set is actually from Germany, so real leather.
To me these are way more comfortable than Scheels. These are firm yet supportive; i’ve ran both I prefer these in all ways. These are similar to the Scheels in the sense that they're squared off and look more period-correct. The armrest and map pocket on the Scheels are cool, though.
I've seen Recaro sport lines in 80s: they're very comfortable, but look more appropriate in an Audi S4.
I'm definitely not setting a new trend, but I do get heckled a lot by my buddies; they call it a Dean truck. Dork alert (me) ⚠️
