I'm annoyed that the snow i was supposed to get here for some good snow wheeling landed in California, but glad that Californians were as snowed on. I'm not sure what to do with these complicated feelings.
Just enjoy the snot out of WA state for me. I got love for Redmond/Bellevue/Issaquah/MI/Seattle/UW! :D

Portland has to have the worst drivers in the nation. City was a hot mess from that snow. This thing rips in the white stuff

Meanwhile in southeast Alaska, we received 96" from beginning of the month through Sunday, and have another storm cycle that is supposed to leave up to 15" by end of day tomorrow. Nobody died or even said much 😜

To be fair? that is at slight elevation (1,500ft+), but sea level received a fair amount as well. Cruiser chomps through it. Tow strap was utilized for a few vehicles.

Does anyone with lots of aftermarket gear on their 80 series have it insured for "agreed upon value" or "guaranteed value"? if so, who are you using?

Yes Farm Bureau.

Cheers

Hit snowshoe mountain WV on the 16th-20th of February. 5-6 hour trip for the ole girl. She did fantastic except for speed. Definitely struggled on the bigger hills. But got the family there safe and sound! I successfully skied down cup run and Shayes revenge! Cruiser got some snow action too, thankfully they got some snow that week

Still a work in progress, but currently working on BEBs, installing wholesale automatic transmission extreme valve, torque converter lockup kit, and trans temp sensor. While I've been working on that I had iron pig offroad install 3.11 low gears and 10% underdrive gear in the xfer case.

I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the wholesale warehouse valve body. I am thinking of getting one eventually.

I'll let you know once it's all done, I'm definitely excited to see how it feels
What year is your 80? I was talking to someone who has an earlier 80 91-92 and they swapped the valve body, they said it made a big improvement in their rig.

If it's a 91-92 diesel don't use it as a comparison. They have fully hydraulic transmissions and the valve body really changes the way they run. They allow 3rd gear lock up and totally change the shift manners.

I’m equally annoyed that this storm didn’t deliver an epic snow dump in the Sierra, and snow here in the valley. I was really counting on that.

Fueled up and gone from the heart of LA at 5AM today in my trusty 80 to make an appt at Valley Hybrids in Stockton. Original plan was to get there by lunchtime and catch a lift from Stockton to OAK to fly back to LAX on a 430PM Southwest.

Mother Nature had other plans.

All of I-5N was closed from Castaic to the Grapevine. Google Maps routed me around on 14N which looked fine.

It then had me cut W through the Sequoia National Forest which is a narrow two lane road with semis on a time clock eventually ending up on the same diverted route.

Conditions got progressively worse with even narrower lanes, no shoulder just snow. I decided to bail when I saw people taking a piss on the side of the road as things got backed up fast. Too many idiots to contend with. Juice wasn't worth the squeeze and by this time, Maps ETA = 7PM optimistic.

I'm just thankful I got the Cruiser back home in one piece. Be safe out there my CA Cruisers! Watch out for nitwits.
Google maps.

LOL

Did you read the weather reports?

Did you think some secondary road would be better plowed than an interstate highway? Really?

WTF?

🤣🤣🤣
