My process:

1. Degreaser
2. Power wash
3. Tap loose flake with a welders hammer to break free any loose debris
4. Wire brush, wire wheel on drill, wire wheel on angle grinder
5. Brake kleen
6. Power wash again
7. Wipe with acetone
8. Rust reformer
9. Paint with high heat enamel
10. Coat with Surface shield
All this when its in place right ? or did you lift the car ?

Just drove my 80 back from our place in Las Vegas NV to our place in New Mexico! Got almost 18 mpg with a 20 mph tail wind the whole way!

Went and picked up the Starcraft “Rugged” Pop-Up trailer I purchased last weekend 👍

It’s just shy of 2500 pounds but the tongue was elongated for easier movement…didn’t really know it was back there coming from near Mt. Hood to Woodburn on the straight seats but the hills were definitely different.

The new cooling system was great…didn’t register over 190 at all, even when I felt I had to drop it in to 2nd gear on a steeper hill.

Camping is going to definitely change now 😎👍

Discovered that the cargo liner from my wife's 2012 RX350 is actually a pretty good fit for the 80.

I truly admire the skills that people bring to this forum.

I pale in comparison. A table I made from an old kitchen cutting board and some angle iron. Fitted onto my Labs swing out. It works.

A little list.

Installed new grommets on my washer bottle,
Installed @yodaTEQ Gullwings and ordered everything else he sells fory 80,
replaced the Lerms plug from my EGR delete with WitsEnd keychain ,
Ordering and receiving I don't know how damn many different packages of spares from WitsEnd and other venders,
Received my Weather tech shield cover and side window vents,
Received my snorkel,
Ordered my sliders,
Ordered @Delta VS storage brackets,
Ordered Escape Gear seat covers and dash cover,
Considering the rear disk conversion from Redline or if I should wait until Justin finishes the new kit.

Getting this thing all set for Mexico is expensive but damn I'm having fun!

Weekend on the banks of the New River. Was nice to not move for 4 days and sit in one spot with a whole lot of nothing to do. But made me realize I need some power options for the fridge that would normally get to take advantage of battery getting a recharge from a couple hours driving to relocate/explore each day.

Started to build a two story storage divider for my tuffy console that is pretty much a bottomless pitt.
Also glued the plastic thing back on. A sandal makes a great pressure holderView attachment 3117747View attachment 3117748
Share more too! i Just got a Tuffy Console and was wondering how to utilize it for storage instead of it being a blackhole for crap!

LOVE the retro orange/yellow/red badging on white!

the 40's look mean ;)

Installed my Overland Pros Wraptor 6K awning today. I was surprised by how sturdy it was without the poles lowered. It even came with additional poles and more tie down ropes than I can ever imagine using. Seriously, it has around a dozen places to attach guy lines. Any concerns I had about coverage at the rear in the kitchen area were put to rest. Very pleased.
