Not mine but two customer long term project rigs.

I have two more #rondavisracingproducts radiators here for two customer long term project 80Series.

The one on the right I had sent out to my anodize shop to be clear anodized for corrosion protection. The radiator on the left is how it comes straight from Ron Davis, raw aluminum. Raw aluminum oxides the moment it’s exposed to air so it’s already got some protection but anodization brings it to a whole new level.

One thing you can notice is the anodize layer is a few microns thick and basically fills in the machine brush finish from@the raw aluminum and makes it look a flat matte. This could be an esthetic you want or don’t want.

After seeing the pics and asking questions, the customer decided to have his anodized as well. As to the color…we shall see 🤔

I'm finally getting around to installing the sliders I have designed and built. This is just a mock-up and will be welding these directly to the frame instead of using the c-clamp route. While I am under the LC, I'm in the process of fabricating a cat skid(final version will be 1/4" steel plate) with the intention of replacing the t-case crossmember and adding some type of belly skid down the road. The cat skid will tie into the sliders with recessed hardware/riv nuts and will utilize the t-case bolts on the frame side.

Is the tab under the T-case crossmember going to make it tough to get a wrench on the driveshaft bolts, or are you planning to cut down more?

Changing the diff fluid in the rear, the transfer case is next, just need some new crush washers to finish. That Alabama clay is some stubborn stuff, looks like rust but with a ton of scrubbing it's cleaning up. Found a mysterious plug above the spare tire. Anyone know what it is for?

@Feldrian Great question!

No interference at this point, but will most likely trim that flange down a little more. I wanted to keep that flange as large as possible to accommodate for any potential deflection in the skid and might even weld a small plate into the skid that will sandwich against the outside of that frame rail.

I am planning on making a plate/provision for access to the drive shaft bolts when I mock up the new cross member and t-case/transmission skid.

I will also be putting a break on both front/rear flanges on the bellyl of the skid, but that isn't shown in the mock up.

The plug is part of the subtank (that we don't get in the US) harness. It mates to the subtank's fuel sender 'stuff'.

cheers,
george.

Exhaust looks good but....you might want to spray the sh*t out of your undercarriage with some Fluid Film or something before it's too late. :frown:

Bought some sheep goop.

Contemplating here... make a wooden frame U structure/pen slightly larger than the truck... (or dig a hole in the ground...) with a hump up in the middle lined with some heavy duty rubber roofing, roll truck in over hump remove wheels, lower gently onto some blocks. flood with evaporust... height of pen should come over frame rails a bit. Plug exhaust.

I have used evaporust, a catch pan and a small pond pump to circulate evaporust all over a rusty mustang fender...

Or find a sandblaster.

Nice! Are you with Addicted Offroad? Getting ready to order a front bumper for my '89 pickup...

I finally got around to installing my We Boost antenna. The cable going into the taillight isn't as clean as I would like but it will work. The cable is fed through the back of the taillight and into the 1/4 panel. Now I am just waiting on my QPM from @NLXTACY

Good luck on all of your weekend projects. Investigating the under cowl situation today.

Cowl wasn't bad - the basic 'pin oak' leaves jamming up the far corners. Washed and cleaned all over in there. Was thinking something like the breathable landscape fabric might be a good idea under the vents.. This is a good 1 banana quarterly maintenance.

My security caught some Ironman Ivan Stewart action early at 2:18AM - I was up netflixing something, but yeah - heard them bottom out.. and there was a nice chunk of rim/bead in my median.. :D

I believe power still runs to the plug. It can be repurposed for other things.
