What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (36 Viewers)

Last weekend, arranged the Hub Greasing (both Front & Rear). Coolant change. Fan + AC belts change. Silicone Oil replaced in Fan clutch. Grease the Drive Shaft.

Guess what, my truck was very smooth in running before doing these works. Since these works are done, I feel vibrations on the floor while driving. When I push the accelerator, the vibrations increases. I lift the foot from accelerators, the vibrations goes away.

Now dealing to sort out this issue.

Check your wheel bearing adjustment.

As usual, the deutsch connectors were a breeze to work with and made it really easy to pre-wire everything outside of the truck and then install all at once after the new carpet went in. Some random pictures I got when I actually thought to snap one :grinpimp:

New subwoofer going in under the driver’s seat, ended up rotating it 90 deg to get a bit more clearance

Delta gauge panel all wired up for easy install/removal

Final shifter console all installed, those new dash LEDs never get old

Reinstalled the Wits End FEMs and I love how they came out. Utilized the side buttons for front/rear footwell lights and installed a 120v Matrix outlet that goes to a 120w Samlex pure sine inverter in the center console. Perfect for charging those fancy Apple laptops my wife uses for work

How does the sub sound? Trying to figure out what to buy/where to put one

I moved a building with my 80 and 62 (on 80 axles), using my comeup winches. That 12x20' building didn't stand a chance ;-)

For a compact sub, it’s pretty awesome. I’ve been running with just the door speakers (upgraded Pioneers circa-2012) for years so my baseline is pretty low. I added an Alpine KTP-445 4 channel amp when upgrading the head unit earlier this year and that made a HUGE difference in sound quality. The sub does a great job filling in the low freq gap left behind and definitely gives the whole setup a much more full sound.

Yeah I just have the pioneer speakers but it's definitely missing on the low end. What model is the sub?

I would do a thread search on here for more details, but the gist of it is that there’s an older pioneer model that fits perfectly under the driver seat. That same thread, which I can’t find at the moment, mentioned that the newer model (TS-WX130DA) didn’t fit under the seat. I decided to give it a shot anyway since I have a chair lift/extension on there and it fits pretty well. It’s still really close to the seat bottom but I also have sound dampening and thicker carpet so there are definitely some non-OEM factors at play 👍

Back in the archives I remember a Kenwood low profile one that also fit.

That set up is sooooo sick!!! Top quality work on all fronts, You, Witsend and Delta. I really need to get some LEDs into my HVAC. What did you use for that?

One more random pic...while walking through the woods near the lake, my daughter and I found this can (we pick up the trash we find) and it took me a while to figure out what it was...Bergermeister, 1956 to 1971...

Old steel can that opened with a church key!

Thank you, the Delta & Wits End stuff definitely sets the bar, I’m just trying to keep up!

HVAC backlighting is 3x Type B, or NEO4 if you’re looking at LEDs. I went with the green ones from SuperBrightLEDs in all three dashes (62,80,100) and they’ve been great.

Truth from my view of the pics, not taking care of or maintained. They look pretty dirty in the first.

Its blue dye from new blue jeans...I cleaned and used leather conditioner for normal cleaning......and always parked in garage, low UV exposure, their cracking all over..
