What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (146 Viewers)

Been having off-and-on temp issues with my '93 (big surprise there.) Bought a used black hub to mod and when I opened it up it was compressed and broken up internally so no love there. Found an old black hub in my spare parts bin and when I opened it up it had obviously been modded before (assembly screws on the outside were easy to remove and the adjustment screws internally had been marked w/sharpie and then it had a new/clear silicone fluid in it) and also had spider-web fractures throughout. Scrapped that one as well, sigh.

Pulled the trigger on a brand new Aisin hub clutch from Amazon. $80 and two days later a brand-new Aisin blue hub fan clutch showed up at my door. Its draining fluid right now in prep for the clutch hub mod. Hopefully this does the trick.

Lol that's funny. That's my cruiser. Just moved to oahu from nevada. Rear bumper is a slee.

Lol.... @Aloha Jen gets banished from posting selfies, dude moves to Hawaii.

Why would she be banished from posting selfies? Who drove that decision?
Not really banished, but apparently someone must have gotten their pink panties in a bunch.

I got my Blackstone kit in the mail today, so I guess I'll do my annual oil change this weekend.

Went over Pilot Peak, in the clouds. Not great visibility, but fun none the less.

Spotted this spider web. Pretty cool.

A fire went through here last year. Crews have been cutting dead wood out all year. A lot of the mountain area looks like this...

On the coast?

I love that paint job.

Mounted L-tracks onto Prinsu rack cross bars, I love it! Turned out fantastic and looks like that's how the rack should be. Now I have tons of removable anchor points with lots of options......now I need to figure out what to put on it. :hillbilly:

Holy crap! Whoever came up with that idea is a freaking genius!!!

Holy cow. I applaud all those that crank out bumpers and armor and such every day. Sure there's some routine developed once you get the design down and can start replicating pieces but still no easy task.

I worked on a 7/8's length lol Swingout today for about 10 hours. I'm no fabricator but man it takes some time to put these ideas into form and that was with compromising, changing design, and chases the changes till the end.

Finished and painted right before the rain. There's a jerry can holder drying for the right side by the latch.

The idea was to copy pandathrust's build and pretty much did but the nagging thought of the difficulty lifting a tire that high kept me bending tube a few more degrees at a time trying to create a cradle style to aid mounting.

Time will tell but liking it so far

Idea one; parallel to hatch but high

Idea two; fits all but weight away from spindle

Final decision

Burned in with paint
