I had time to weld this up.......well its more of me grinding down most of my welds..lol...I ran out of welding wire so it will be a while till I get back to working on it again.

It's actually dangerous and illegal in most states.

I drive a 3F-E it's not like I could hear anything outside of my 80 anyway...

And it's not illegal in Iowa. Cows and pigs don't make much noise so I wouldn't hear them even without the headphones.

Edit for the southern states: I'm aware that pigs make a lot of noise in your states but that is a whole other story...

Well what a freaking weekend! First I got an alignment done....well I fixed the steering wheel angle. That's all that was out of whack. Next I tackled the PHH. When I replaced my starter I saw it was starting to leak. Good thing I did too as it fell apart in my hand.

I did not understand why people hate this so much. I put it on a rack, drained the coolant, which was really bad, took the ds wheel off and had perfect visibility. From here I took a crowbar and hammered off the cotter pin style clamp, maybe 5 hits, then use a remote hose clamp plier and sneaked up behind the starter and clamped and locked it into place. Next get back on the top and remove the hose and the pipe from the bracket. Back down to the PHH use a long hose pick to break the seal created from pressure by the clamps. From here it pulled right off just reaching in. Next was easy, spray a bit of PB blaster on the hose and slips right on. A 8mm on a swivel with a mild extension on an electric screw gun made this part easy. Reconnect the upper hose and pipe bracket then fill with coolant. This with solder a crack on the top of the radiator from the PO kneeling on it took me a hour and a half. Next my brother and I made and installed a windshield washer relocation bracket and installed the 91 battery tray. Needs slight cutting to miss the fan shroud but was really easy. After this I replaced my alternator, installed and wired up the isolator. Put the 2nd battery in and fired her up. Tests showed it working!

Yes I know she needs cleaning and I'm getting there so ignore that.

Also got a bracket made for the blue sea fuse box. This I will hopefully have finished wired in the next couple of days. Finally I made head way on my reverse light setup and got them mounted but ran out of time to get the wiring finished.

I also helped my brother clean his heads on his old vw bug, help him fix a flooding issue at his house and replaced the a/c valves, ps/vacuum pump gasket, fuel shut off solenoid and relay on my dads 97 12valve. Now I think its time to pass out!

Next weekend I'm tackling the crankshaft main seal and oil pump seal. I plan on hitting it with the power washer to clean it all off before replacing.

Don't get me wrong, I drive a 3F-E with all original seals (except valve cover). She leaks like a sieve and is nice and oily. I was just busting your balls.

At 186K miles it was time for a new Valve Cover Gasket, including spark plug tube seals. Found crunchy deposits in the valve cover to clean out.Then I went crazy with the ‘While You’re in There’ items.

Replaced Heater control valve. (All heater hoses, PHH pipe and rear heater bypass already done)

Checked valve clearance: all intake less than .127 mm, all exhaust less than .35mm.

Replaced PCV, grommet & hose, Vent hose to throttle body.

Tested EGR. (Had a fight getting it back on, finally put the intake back on the bench, pulled the two studs and replaced with bolts – way easier to install)

Replaced all spark plugs & wires (#1, 2 & 4, damaged during removal due to swelled/sticky rubber from oil leaks).

Cleaned Throttle body & upper half of Intake manifold, (nasty sticky black goo)

Replaced #1 bypass coolant hose,

Replaced all vacuum lines connected to the intake.

Replaced fuel pressure regulator.

Had Doctor Injector refurbish the fuel injectors, before and after flow tested – all were under the spec flow of 82cc/m; #1 = 72, #2 = 79, #3 = 80, #4 = 80, #5 = 78, and #6 = 77. (Fuel injector insulators were 80% eaten away, there was nothing but a shell left)

Checked the wiring harness near the EGR – no melted insulation or discoloration, replaced the original crumbling heat reflective tape with 90% DEI heat reflective wrap from Summit.

Adjusted AC drive belt,

Truck runs smoother than it has since I bought it at 165K miles, which I am going to attribute to the fuel injectors being serviced.

Must have knocked it out while wrestling the EGR onto the intake (before I decided to install the bolts) as I had the intake loose to help line up the EGR. If that is what it is am very fortunate it didn’t fall in the lower intake runner. Is that what it is or should I be more concerned?

Must have knocked it out while wrestling the EGR onto the intake (before I decided to install the bolts) as I had the intake loose to help line up the EGR. Yep, that's one of the intake guide pins/sleeves...I "lost" one once, only to have it jam into an intake valve...ended up purchasing one of those video scope things from Home Depot and using that plus a magnet on a long zip tie (plus rotating the crank) to recover it...

Not one of my better days...be glad it's in your hands, not your intake

Auto-up window mod. And determined that my intermittent start issue isn't the ignition switch by plugging the new one into the harness and working it with a screwdriver about a hundred times.

since I'm a pussy, and since my ground lug looks sketchy to me, I'm gonna fresh up the battery ground first.

And then finally get under there and check out my starter.

The big 2WD Ford finally got it done, took a few tries though. So he pulled two cars out of the mud, their driveways... I offered to help, but they got it done. Friendly crowd. They thought my truck was "cool."

Engine was replaced at 180xxx miles with a 60xxx mile engine! I asked him what happened and he said the engine exploded…
