Stopped in to my work (Lowe's) to pick up a couple things to finish my bathroom remodel. Spotted a piece of laminate countertop with a damaged corner. 10' long. $10 for my garage workbench. Didn't think about it being -5F out and not being able to close the lift gate. The Cruiser Yard lift struts kept the lift gate from slamming down on the countertop.
And yes, beards are a requirement in Iowa. Amirite @120mm?!

1 step forward, two steps back for me this week. It was nice enough out for things to thaw here and I was able to try the sunroof out on my newly acquired fzj80. It worked great despite the surrounding trim being broken! Then, 2 days later it got down to 0 degrees and everything froze up so bad that I broke my drivers door handle trying to get in

It is one of the reasons I F*%$ing HATE Texas! The jacket was a free jacket I got from Makita when I had my commercial roofing company. It's a long story but I don't have the company or my former two best friends. So, yeah, F$#% Texas!
Reminds me I still need a patch to sew over that F&$% Logo! Maybe a TEQ patch...

Ok. Should've explained this to you. A solid thump on the door with the side of your fist breaks the ice seal. Contact Jason aka @arcteryx at Cruiser Yard for a used door handle. He's a good dude. Sorry bro.

It's not really a beard per se, more of a "I didn't feel like shaving the past couple of weeks" beard.

Pretty much. I always have them in in public. That way I can ignore people when I'm in a hurry and can blame it on "listening to music".
Plus, the "stereo" in my 80 leaves a bit to be desired. It's 12 years old.

It's actually dangerous and illegal in most states.
Started a knuckle rebuild after work on Friday. By 1230am I had everything removed and cleaned, ready for reassembly. I noticed my pads were low and my rotors needed to be turned, so added that to the sat AM list.
Up early Saturday morning and into oreilly's to get the rotors turned. Found out that they were out of spec, so had to order new rotors. I went with the 100 series pads since I was already in there.
I ordered new birf clips and wheel bearings as I don't want to do this job again for a long, long time. My CV joints were really tight, I had to use more force than I expected to get the ball bearings back in, but I switched sides and get them back together. Finished up around 930pm Saturday night.
Much love to Kurt for an awesome knuckle rebuild kit that is high quality, fairly priced and delivered quickly. Also a great FAQ on here to follow that gave some good tips. The birf disassembly was a snap with the PVC trick, and they went back together quickly using the hose clamp method.
Man that is one FILTHY job though. I lost count of how many pairs of gloves I went through. One of the best things I did was spread painting plastic on the garage floor underneath the front of the truck. Then I had somewhere clean to lay out parts, and all the junk just folded up in the plastic afterwards and went into the trash bin. Glad to have it done. Truck performed flawlessly on its post-op drive, and the new pads and rotors bedded nicely.

Yea, that is common knowledge. And if it is really cold, don't lock you doors so you can find the door that is easiest to open, and then push the drivers door open from the inside.
