It's crazy how much room was taken up by stuff that really, Mr. T didn't want in there (and didn't include in any other markets besides the US). And my 80 runs so much smoother and even, dare I say, seems a little bit peppy. :flipoff2:

Yours is way cleaner than mine. I have the Toyota rust proofing thing (oil leaks) going on.

I have plenty of that as well. It's just all on the other three sides of the motor! Haha.

That's it!
You're having me for Christmas. you will help me desmog my car and register it in the Great State of Iowa.

Come on out. It'll take about 3 hrs and we'll have it done. Plus the 5-10 min at the DMV to register it.

One of these days I will finish my EGR delete write up...

You know, that one picture of your engine bay pretty much shows what needs to be done to desmog a 3fe.
It is a pretty good write up in itself.

These aren't the best photos... we are talking about a black undercoating in a dark wheel well... but I am very happy with results.
Sorry there is some sand/dirt in the pictures from driving it around yesterday.

I'm gonna do that next time I properly was the LC (which won't happen until next summer probably LOL)

True but there were a lot of little things that I didn't know to do or what they were called. I'm a :banana: mechanic at most. I spent about 2 hrs actually wrenching and 4-5 figuring out what the hell things were. Well, maybe 2-3 hrs figuring out what things were and 1-2 hrs sweating that I was tearing about my baby. I also did the valve cover gasket and painted it while I was in there. The write up I've started really breaks it down for a novice, with pictures. I think it would be helpful for others...

With the EGR delete (especially the VSV delete) there isn't really any going back. I wanted to make sure I didn't screw up.

You've convinced me. I was tempted to do this when I painted my bottom half of my truck a few weeks ago. Instead I just spray painted my wheel wells. I knew I should've undercoating them as I was noticing that some had fallen off. I will pick up a couple of cans tomorrow at work (work at Lowe's). How many cans did you use? Will two do?

You're missing a York compressor in that empty space...
It might be my favorite mod on my truck. Unbelievably useful to have a very fast charging air system. That makes me want to source the plug for the egr crap. I looked at pulling all that off when everything was apart when installing the new injectors, but couldn't find anything locally so on it went back on.

I know. I'm adding the second battery, second fuse box (I think I'm using a OEM box but not sure) adding a Renogy 100w fixed solar setup (maybe 200 watt), and really want to do the York compressor. I just haven't researched it enough. My understanding is that it is really easy to add.

Well, 400 miles from home visiting family I repaired a trashed wheel bearing.

Trying to add pics with the app

At least I was able to do it in my brothers driveway.

Ill need to do a proper job when I get home. I used national bearings not timkin like id like and the spindle looks bad. There is also a lot of wear on the heavy washer when the bearing spun but im heading home.

Of course, in Iowa, we really don't have a DMV like other states. We go to the County courthouse and the (usually) ladies at the Clerk of Court office register vehicles locally. LIke LS1FJ40 says, maybe 5-10 minutes, depending on how much you like to b.s. with the girls in the office.
