Gave the 3b a workout...trailered the boat for the first time up to Tofino (5hours) up through the mountains. Feelin the turbo bug comming on a little more these days. Ran great, made decent time though!

Dropped the boat in the chuck at first light. spent 7 hours fishing, bear watching and exploring the many inlets around Tofino and Meares Island.

Pulled the boat, ran to grab some burritos at tacofino and headed to Kennedy Lake, Vancouver islands biggest lake. Camped the night.
Woke up in the morning to a haze over the lake, later to find out the while province of BC had basically caught fire.

Stopped by ACC Land Cruiser's on my way to the hills. WoW !!!
These guys (and gals) have the passion, no doubt. My old truck looked a bit rickety, but was in the best of company parked there.

Tackled a big project for me this week.

Symptoms:
Blower motor getting hot and tripping fuse after a minute or so at high setting.
A/C non functioning. Hasn't worked since I have owned the truck. Lots of unknowns.

Blower Fix: Feeling adventurous I took apart the blower motor and found the brushes burned out. No parts store could help me so I ordered these little guys from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EK7Z09K?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

With a little sanding they fit well. A little solder and the blower motor was back in business. For $10 it was a fun project with nice results. No pics, my hands were covered in dust.

AC Fix: Did a leak test and the low pressure port was faulty. Borrowed a vac system to evacuate the system and did the 134a conversion with a new dryer, o rings, etc. Filled it up last night and it's blowing 39F out of the vents. Good enough for me.

Drove to work with the windows up and the A/C blowing. Big smile on my face. One less excuse for my wife to not ride in Squeaks (cruisers nickname)

The real test comes this afternoon. Hopefully 98* and high humidity doesn't blow up the system!

So I read how you converted yourA/C
Can you give me some specs or part numbers on what you used?
I need to do this to two I my vehicles

I ordered the o rings and dryer from coolstreamac. He is a mud member and takes good care of people.

Got the correct oil, fittings gauge and Freon from Napa.

The whole process was easier than expected.

It survived the heat this afternoon so I'm pleased. Truck did run a little warmer but nothing too serious.

Got a new DC DS. No more thumps/clunks at every traffic light. Thanks Dyno..!!!

Scored an AT furnace box new at half price.....

Drove in heavy traffic with the windows up and the AC on...... oh what a feeling...!!!

Finished cleaning all the old tar off the floor. Now for some POR15 over the surface rust and then the cruisercrap can be put down.

Had some recovery points fabricated and mounted up. Installed the swing arms on the 4Plus bumper (thanks again @lcwizard) and put on my WKOR sliders:

Who fabricated your sliders? Very similar to NCFJ work here on Mud! Great looking Rig!

Rented out a bay and replaced the TREs and steering stabilizer this weekend. I had planned on also replacing the calipers, rotors and master cylinder, but at $20/hr plus 100 degree/100% humidity NOLA weather, they'll have to wait for another weekend.

I replaced the rear axle bearings and seals, replaced the rear b-shoes, wheel cylinder, front pads, nuts!! found s frozen caliper and replaced. Next to replace the TREs a little slop on the right and then straighten the steering wheel out.

After just waiting for the THole carb to get it running right and dump the weber

Can Cruiser Crap be put over the tar?

Can Cruiser Crap be put over the tar?
I believe it can no problem. I think most people keep the factory tar mats on and then put on more sound deadener. The factory stuff is great and wish I could have kept it. Some people, like myself, who are worried about rust underneath take it all out to seal the rust first and then put down the new sound deadener. My cruiser had a history of water intrusion that for some reason no one fixed, so there was a high chance of surface rust underneath I wanted to get at and stop.

Yes it can. But you want to make sure you don't have any rust issues beforehand. With a dry So Cal vehicle I had no concerns after thorough inspection and removal of easy to lift OEM tar.

Can Cruiser Crap be put over the tar?
As long as there are not any issues with the original tar peeling off or separating from the body. If it is not completely stuck down, then the new sound deadener that you apply over it won't be either, since it will only be stuck to the part that is peeling and not to the body itself. Although this won't cause any problems in its self, it could possibly lead to corrosion if any moisture gets trapped... but more likely than not, the only downside would be that it would not be deadening that tiny section of metal where the old deadener is peeling.

If you have any peeling sections, chip off what you can until you're left with what is stuck on well, and just lay the CruiserCrap over it.

Oh, and try using a tennis ball to get it pressed down real well. It's easier to get it pressed down with the ball than with the square roller when your laying it over the uneven surface of the floor.
