The LEDS at first were awesome. They lit up the night. However after having them for a few months now the amount of light they emit has diminished greatly. Not sure if that's due to the condensation or what. The bulbs are made by CREE and the flashlights they make are amazing. I purchased the 42" and (6) 6" that were installed on the left, right and rear of my roof rack. all of them have retarded output.
I would not recommend the roof top LEDs I installed.

Sorry, auto correct. " Re-Curved"
I installed the HD Old Mans 11 years ago with smaller inversion shackles. But of course over the years the leaves became completely flat. This recurve with the add a leaves gave me back the 2.5" or maybe even 3" I had lost over the years. (That's what she said) I instantly noticed the different when I climbed into the cab.
With the large 4X4 labs rear and all the gear I carry in the back, sliders, INTI roof rack, the ARB front with the winch once installed , and at some point an engine swap, it was prudent that I start with restoring the suspension before adding the ARB, winch and engine swap.

Well, likely with an engine swap you will lose weight when you drop the 2F.

Got my new wheels mounted up, pulled the steering box to be sent off for rebuild, and put the new oem steering pump in. What a productive day!

Tested the new H55F and rebuilt t-case riding some mild trails on some private land in N Ga. Have to tread lightly here out of respect for the owner, we don't tear up roads, but it has some steep places the truck pulled up and over like a champ in 4L. Everything worked perfectly. Was going to drive across the river but I don't have a winch on there yet, so I chickened out. It could be done easily here, just one kinda deep spot to watch out for, and a gulley. It was the best day of summer yet: blue sky, low humidity, low 80's temp, just perfect weather for a drive thru the woods and ridges of the old N. GA gold mining area, then enjoy a cold one on the banks of the Etowah River.

Put about 500 miles on the old girl with a little trail time; took the Uwarrie Off Road Training Center 4wd-101 course. I highly recommend for anyone without a lot of off road driving experience that is within a day's drive of Uwharrie (would make a nice weekend to take their class on Saturday and wheel in Uwharrie on Sunday). Class is designed for stock 4wd with open diffs and all instruction is centered around driving that way. I learned a lot and gained a lot of confidence in myself and the FJ62.

4/12 vehicles were Toyotas (FJ Cruiser, 100-Series, 4Runner, my 62).

UORTC is also partnered with Overland Experts and had a bunch of their vehicles - 80 series, Defender, Mitsubishi, a couple of Tacomas and...*drum roll*...a few left hand drive diesel Hilux's.

Anyway - great class, would recommend.

ETA: Working on driving with two feet through some moguls designed to twist you up:

I reinstalled the Hella fog Lights. I think I figured out why the Cree LED have been performing so poorly. The PAC 500 battery isolator blew and is no longer charging my 2nd red top which is also dead. That Optima REDTOP was installed in 09. Can't believe it. I'll never buy a different brand of battery.
So, I just ordered another PAC 500 Islolator and will return the one that blew. As well as a D31T optima yellow top.
And remounted to pelican which houses all the cooking utensils and stove.

Bombed up to Port Renfrew BC for a couple night, put about 100km of backroads in on Saturday. Finally found the tree dubbed "Big Lonely Doug". It was found in a clear cut, it was found to be the second tallest Douglas Fir in Canada after a proper measurement. The tallest DF also resides in Port Renfrew, just 10km away. Also Explored Avatar Grove which is home to many giants as well. Rivers were cold but ever so clear and refreshing

Prepped my 80 axle for install

Got tired of my passenger side window knocking around while I'm driving over potholes in New Orleans. I couldn't imagine driving in this city in some of the little sports cars I see running around. Turns out the inner runner was just laying in the bottom of the door. *fixed*

Big project coming up the weekend after next though. New TREs, steering stabilizer, calipers rotors and master cylinder are hopefully all going in. I even found a garage that rents out bays and includes tools. Thank. da. Lawd. Finally have a place other than the street in front of my house to do some real work in.

Along with my son in his '97 LX450, did the Rubicon (first timers) with TLCA's Rubithon event. I can't begin to describe how awesome the trip was, and how awesome the people were.

Just a few more pics about my Rubicon trip - best - and hardest - trip I've ever been on!

Hoping to win some of the $10,000 in prizes at the raffle!

Changing out a smashed rear drive shaft just off Hwy 80 after getting really bad vibrations at 40 mph+ (damaged on the exit up Cadillac Hill). Never noticed it on the trail:

Assessing major dent in PS rear quarter panel:

Trying to fix said dent with a football, OBA and the bottle jack:

Fairly pleased with the result of my efforts:

Tail light cover and side marker assembly on order from Onur already!

As I said before the people were awesome and really made the event. If you haven't been before, GO! I can't imagine ever missing another one if there's any way possible to make it!

Spent 7.5 hours banging away at rivets trying to get a bumper installed. Called it quits at 9:30 last night with 2 left to remove tonight before I install the new bumper/tire carrier. No air chisel, so went at them with a BFH, drill, grinder...the hard way.

I drilled mine out after doing more damage to myself than the rivets with hammer and grinder. Really pleased with the 4+ bumpers now they're on. :)

It is possible to recurve (rework) the stock springs ( or lift springs) to factory spec.

Basically put them in a big hydraulic press and curve the spring under HEAVY load.

I think that was a mis-type.

Also possible to hot recurve but requires someone that knows what they're doing as you're basically re-tempering the spring.
Hot recurve lasts longer than cold, but is more expensive. Haven't done it since 1975 or so, so I'm not sure anyone does it anymore.
