Finally peeled the tar mat up from the floor. Used the pneumatic chipping hammer method. It worked pretty well, but I found out how thin the transmission tunnel is pretty quick.... Doh!
Also had a few spot where the tar was broken down into a messy goo. I guess it had something spilled on it at one time or another. Will try to finish cleaning it up tomorrow with some sort of solvent.

tried to cook my motor again...I don't think my radiator is supposed to be boiling after a hill climb straight up a mountain. head gasket is still good though and she runs the same I just think my radiator is cooked from a while back

I was staring at it and i figured you guys here would appreciate it.. I wish I could have built him myself but this truly is a beauty.. ejoy

Purchased 4 degree caster wedges, gonna do a big lift

Replaced the cargo side panels with some home-made panels. Cut and shaped these out of Hardy board (had a piece left over from ceramic tile installation). Mounted with $10 of hardware (plastic anchors and screws).

Painted my rear diff cover blue and fixed the leak, the. Put new shiny hardware on.

My 62 sees more use as a canopy then as a 4x4....

At least it's shady

Loaded the whole family (plus all the stuff required for two kids, a wife and a dog for 3 days in the woods) and made our maiden voyage/shake down cruise out to Sequoia National Forest. Truck performed great, even managed over 13mpg on the freeway portion. Also manged to go everywhere, with the same relative ease as my brother in his brand new Tacoma TRD with all the bells and whistles (9! different driving modes :D)

Great pics, is that a double roof rack?
Thanks. I love the southern Sierra's, especially, when you can get away from other campers. This spot is pretty secluded with just on other campsite about 100yds downstream, and no others within about a 1/2 mile. On the rack, not sure what you mean by "double." It's an ARB, 87" x 49", though if that helps. (I think it's part # 3800010M, but the PO put it on, not me so I can't be sure).

Ah ok, I see it better now. I thought you put a roof rack and attached it to another one. Yeah I love seclusion and beautiful scenery, it's why mine is an expo rig. Cheers.

Turns out I didn't fix my leak
