This past weekend after FINALLY breaking down and paying the $6 (free shipping too) for a set of new replacement LED dome bulbs....I put one in the main dome but got thwarted by the trunk. Seems one of 2 screws is SOOOO corroded that it stripped out.

Question 1:
Any solutions on how to remove a stripped out screw from a plastic dome lens?!?!?! I'm sure I have a replacement screw that will work....I just don't want to damage the lens since its original!

Sunday, took "Horn Head Hombre" to IKEA to pick up girlfriends new entertainment unit (boxed of course) curtain rod, and misc. things and realized how NICE it is to have a compartment BIG, LARGE & GRAND enough to put things like IKEA boxed goods in. Scored some MAJOR points for this.... :)

Question 2:
In the "As-is" dept of IKEA, they had a large mattress that looked like it would spread out nicely in the back of "HHH" for camping and extended excursions. Does anyone know a mattress size that would fit around the wheel wells? This folding futon type pad was a queen size. My estimation was it was TOO big. Any thoughts??? This would be perfect as it was capable of folding up into a roll for better storage.

Cheers,
James

Single bed also known as a twin size fits nicely between the wheel wells and between the flipped forward rear seat/tailgate.

For sure...

Easy Outs? Ya....especially with this vehicle....it sat and sat and sat and has many areas of neglected screws and bolts from corrosion and weather and just non-use.

For sure, but I like having an open compartment for transporting other people's stuff. I figured a futon will fit PERFECTLY in there if its a twin and then can roll up and be taken out when not needed.

Cheers,
JR

COOL!

Aaron,

Thanks a BUNCH! A twin you say??? PERFECT! So glad I didn't spend the $95 + IKEA was asking for that mattress then! :)

I knew someone would know!

Thanks again,
JR

hasn't been done to my 62 yet but just ordered some 4plus bumpers!! folded the previous steel one I had bought off a friend. it was just too thin of metal to offer any real protection. had to hammer out my rear fender so the tail gait could open and close. wasn't even a hard hit but enough to cause me grief. these bumpers look great and dave gore has been great to order from. hopefully they'll be here in a few weeks but who knows!

Finally got my ARB touring rack installed. Pretty pumped she still fits in the garage with an inch to spare! :D

Added a tranny to t-case bypass hose from SOR.. Serious $$$ but oh well, would rather keep the tranny health and pay that money vs. buying another tranny/t-case.

Adjusted the windshield washer fluid nozzles on my '60 down a bit so they'd quit shooting over the windshield.

New front wipers, land cruiser emblems, and a new drivers door seal for me.

Door jams and antenna greased

With all the rain the PNW is getting, I had to lube the drivers side door jam to keep it from squeaking and then decided to do the same to my still stock antenna.

Both slide and move SOOO much more freely now. I want to thank the company that makes "Lubriplate" for making such a wonderful product.

Knowing it was going to get cold enough my batteries would only have 3 try's in them to start, I finally got to battery blankets from Canadian tire. Installed them and what a difference that made turning it over this morning at -25C!

Finally installed this behemoth... on the rear bench.

The simple wiring of this ARB switch was enough to confuse the hell out of me

install new overhead console, it isn't the right shape but it will do the intended job ..

also and finally finish my long rear brake maintenance upgrade .. get rid of those useless eldo calipers with ebrake and use a set without the e-brake feature .. ( much more simple stuff ) and new brake lines ..

Finally fixed the annoying OME front spring popping when turning by welding the internal sleeve in place. No more noise!

Threw a little grey primer on the slide out kitchen/cook/storage bin. Need another can to finish coating it. My new camera is coming on Monday and I'll put some pics. up soon.
