What did you do with your 60 this weekend? (7 Viewers)

Not all over the weekend, but all completed since I brought it home over Thanksgiving.

Swapped out the worn out visors for 70 series visors. I did this on my last 62 and it made a huge difference. I also got a new battery, terminals, radiator cap, washer fluid reservoir cap, and windshield wiper base covers.

Since you reuse parts from your original visors do these stay up? Say if you put a garage door opener on them?

When I did my 60 series the only thing you remove is the bottom section of the A/C. It is just two screws one in front and one on the drivers side. It does make it easier to install that section wit out that piece.
Once removed there is a bracket where you will have to make a slit on the carpet for it lay flat.
When you put that piece back on it is a little thought being the carpet added just a little height to it. Otherwise you are good.
Good tip. Im about to tackle this job here shortly

Decided to get her some 33’s yesterday.

Haven’t measured yet, but guessing 32.5-32.7” based on past experience.
Specs. is at 32.5 I was eye balling the same size for my pick up. The General Grabber X3 is a real 33" which I'm also considering i like their Red lettering.

I had Grabber x3 and they didn't balance worth a damn, and only lasted like 25k miles. But they were very tough and did great off road.
Now I have Kanati Mud Hog from Simpletire.com
in 35x10.50x15 and LOVE them for less than half the cost of Grabbers or BFG.

Hey folks, new to the forum and this obsession. Appreciate all the knowledge and information being shared across the board. It's really helped me tackle the baselining of my FJ62. Here's what I've done since bringing her home on Saturday:

Fresh NGK spark plugs gapped to spec

Went behind the steering column to address the non-running high-beams. Also swapped the H1s for lower wattage sealed beams to reduce battery draw

The butyl/MLV or carpet install? I intend to put up a pretty extensive how-to with photos when I'm done but I have some photo's of what's been done so far in the build thread and some stuff I have yet to upload.
Oh perfect, yeah pretty much all of it. Ive got to reseal some seam sealer inside my fender this weekend, and then after thats done im going to do butyl and MLV and then do a dnp carpet kit. Its all just been sitting waiting to be done. I got some MLV from second skin that is the closed cell foam and MLV in one so im hoping it skips a step

I did Kilmat and the second skin luxury liner pro MLV, same as what you got. Haven’t taped the MLV seams because it’s too cold but here’s some of what I’ll eventually be posting.

dude thank you! did you have to pull the jute off of the new carpet or the old carpet? Have you driven it yet since doing all of this?
New carpet, you add a lot of thickness to the floor with the MLV and the sound deadener. It’s very quiet in the cab, conversations at 75 easy. I was thinking about putting more around the tunnel/t case to mitigate the whine more

nice! well at least its worth all the extra work. Wonder if you could jam the jute back in around the tunnel area if it would help much?

I was wondering about this. Did you try with the jute on first and found it too much or did you rip it out from the start?
