that's cuz you've driven more than he has, no?
Yeah, let's go with that. It's totally not because I was irresponsible when I was his age and treated my old mazda like a rally car.

Not mine… but I wish!

Few more combos built..

Rebuilt 4l60 and FJ62 T-case shipped out to a customer for his 5.3 swap.

And a rebuilt 6l80e, brand new Vacuum-shift case with 10% OD high-range for a build we are doing in-house with 80 axles and coil springs.

What’s the appeal to adapting the 62 to the modern drive train? Is the 62 case better than a modern case that would be found on that transmission?

Most of the GM transfer cases are driver's side front output and centered rear output. The Cruiser case is also a lot more compact and doesn't hang down as low.

I popped the caps on my new wheels. Not sure if I like them as much as the chrome - likely need to get used to them before deciding.

Random dude on the internet’s opinion: I think they look badass! I want to get these for my silver 60. Do you mind me asking what it cost you for the whole set? Did you get a matching spare or just leave the steel wheel on?

Part number is floating around somewhere. Less than $150 from some dealerships.

@micruz60

Part Number: 42601-60262-03

I got a set of 5 from Fred Anderson, somewhere in NC, for around that price. They did a good free shipping deal, but beware, the packaging reflected the shipping cost. I was glad they were just a set of steel wheels and not expensive alloys…

Appreciate the vote of confidence :)

I bought them from online Toyota dealer so no tax and free shipping. Also got them during a Toyota 15% off sale. First order was 4 wheels and the caps for $498 and then went back and ordered fifth wheel for the spare which was $111. So a tad over $600 for set of 5. Then paid $170 to have the 5 wheels powder coated and another $170 to have all 5 mounted (they dropped the spare for me) and check my alignment. So $950 all in.

Cheaper than getting a new set of tires and gives your truck a great vintage look, sweet!

Powdercoating 5 wheels for $170?? Where in 2005 do you live?? I was just quoted $65/wheel for my FJ Cruiser 17" Steelies... in Atlanta area

Ha! Chicago burbs. And they are less than 6 miles away and they turn things around in 2-3 days/

Had them do my air cleaner:

Well I learned today that the $65/wheel is apparently a bargain (like 30 min drive away into the burbs) because I stopped by an Atlanta metro place this morning just to check because it's so much closer and the dude quoted me $175/wheel 😆 I was like, these wheels cost $85/piece!! and he shrugged his shoulders and went back into his office. I'm probably just gonna end of painting them, I bought all of the paint already, and they're going on my 1st gen Taco that's gonna live at our property in Western NC, anyways... Cabin Trucks don't need powdercoating :)
