My initial impressions are good. I like the width vs 12.5. The actual height measures 34" installed on 7.5" wide rims. My suspension is OME and longer shackles. Stock motor and gears. I just picked this up a month ago and haven't had a chance to drive it due to the tank being rusted inside. I'll try to remember to circle back after I've driven on the tires a bit.
alright i think the timing cover is bent so we are going to buy a new one with new bolts. unfortunately the last shop forced the front seal and made it blow up every time. also a new steering shaft because why not!
That's great, I'm sure a bunch of us would be interested. The Klever RT was announced in 35x12.5 and 33x9.5 a while back and we all waited for two years for them to be released. Since they've been in the wild I haven't heard much on them though.
@Meshal Yeah, we're gonna need part numbers on the pretty new timing cover and steering shaft!
new gear reduction starter motor fitted - thanks to all who contributed to old threads on here regarding this - easy job and starts so much better now.
other shop sorting some stuff fir the green fj62 then a new fj80 steering head is going to be in. I am glad i live in a place where you can find cheap prices for such a part. we see many “outlets” storage and they sell cheap

After missing my old tent it was time for new. Ran down to Autohome @ Gig Harbor, WA and picked up new Maggiolina Extreme.
This one is the small. Black Storm colour combo. The top will be painted to match the truck soon enough. Black is too hot. The handle needed some 10 lb persuasion to make a bend or two so it clears the Tradesman’s Rack

Hey, from this last pic, it looks like you have the tradesman roof rack, but cut off the top basket part? I have the same one If my eye is right. I had done something similar previously, but cut off the basked in one pice from the cross bars, so that I could reconnect the basket (with bolts through the cross bars). But found those skinny cross bars by themselves, weren’t sturdy enough to hold my RTT. Pretty flexy….so I can appreciate why you did it your way. You get the cross bars doubled up that way. And the lower part of the basket.
I got it that way from a salvaged burnt 62. I hauled my previous identical earlier version of the same tent for
7-8 yrs. I’m glad the basket is off it. I wouldn’t drill holes in these bars. They are only thin wall 3/4” square tube.
Drilling through would make them weak. Its a great rack, if a bit heavy, but that tent isn’t going anywhere except
everywhere I want to go!

Compromise. Cot in back of 60 is more comfortable by miles. But just trying to function for weeks at a time and stay above the bugs. The roof tent is just more comfortable in the long run. I have a ridiculous idea I’m working on - so standby for that.
post some more photos from the side when you get around to it. would love to see more
LIGHTS
Need recommendations on a VERY bright LED H3 that is low profile because these bulbs aren’t cutting it. I want to light up my way like I’m on the surface of the sun. These housings don’t have much space so I can’t do the high output LED bulbs with the fan on the back. Maybe I just go back to the 85w halogen bulbs … trying to avoid that because that’s nearly 30A of current draw with all four lights on.
40 Series light switch only took one jumper wire to make the first pull one pair of lights and the second pull all four lights. Mounts perfectly in hand throttle hole, too.
Spent 3 hours last night and about 4 hours this morning scratch building, wrapping, & terminating the harness for this project. Spent about 2 hours laying out, cutting, & welding the extra bar to the bumper. Another hour rebuilding the internals on the four PIAAs. Maybe 2 hours installing it all. Way more time than I thought it would take but I’m meticulous. Worth it.

Drove it to the mountains and slept in it.
I drove it back 2.5 hours in Sunday beach traffic from the Cape alone as the family stayed behind for an extra few days while I went to work on Monday.
